I don't think Scanlon would fail. Not even close. I don't see anything in his resumé that would suggest he would be anything other than a great hire. Sure, he hasn't been an athletics director before, but he has excelled in positions that require even more organizational wherewithal. I think he would transition into the position very well. And his upside is very high.
