He was and he reminded me of my grandmother who was the brains of the family and made all the decisions.

When she passed on, everything fell apart.

That is what happened to Arkansas.

Probably so, but even if he didn't, I don't think people fully appreciate how much drama and chaos that man was responsible for before he left. Sure, a lot of people like him, but a lot of people also frickin' hate his guts. If they hired Nutt or Malzahn, you might as well just stick a fork in the program.

Scanlon is the obvious choice, imo. But whoever it is, you can't whiff again.

Only the most gullible hog fans want Houston Nutt as the AD.

Gus caused as much if not more drama than Nutt.

There is nothing on either one of their resumés that would suggest they would even be qualified to be an AD. And that's even aside from the obvious bullshite baggage that either one of them would bring along.

Summon the ghost of Frank Broyles.
I suspect that a large part of the NIL failures of today were created by past ADs.

The Razorback program apparently never gained the attention of the big money people that we need now when they were younger. The current crop of Razorback boosters, and potential boosters, were young during Frank's time.

Frank was never able to grab Walton family attention from anyone in that family except Bud.

Frank obviously never would have foreseen the era of NIL, so its not completely fair to criticize him.

I suspect no AD or head coach is going to be able to fix our issues. Dark days ahead for the foreseeable future.

Well that's been proven twice by hiring two carpetbaggers.

Kevin gives us the best chance to get out of this fricking mess, if that's even possible at this point.

I'd hire someone from the NFL to be the AD and not just the GM.

Let's face it. We are a semipro league and need to run it like an NFL franchise.

If football does well it will making running the other sports easy.

It won’t happen because the board will want someone they can control. They’ll hire another fiscally conservative empty suit.

He hasn't been around the program in years, Scanlon has been boots on the ground for years.

Hampton has nothing on Scanlon in regards to financial wherewithal. Both obviously have ties to the state and the program, but Scanlon is light years ahead in regards to the business aspect of the job.

Also an understanding of our past and vested interest in the state and future of the football program. And by vested interest, I mean pride in our history, shame in what we have become, and the will to push us back to where we should be.

Broyles really was so critical to holding everything together.

Not sure Silverado and staff would have made it home after the Utah game.

Scanlon or Trainor

Both could fail massively but at least they get Arkansas

He would have never been hired to begin with. I would like to think that Broyles would have hired Cignetti instead of giving Pittman a raise.

You really don't think the right AD could figure out how to raise or redistribute ~10M dollar which would put us level with Tennessee on NIL?

Seriously, this can't be that difficult if you hire and pay the right coach and staff.
