Does Root pitch tomorrow? We need to see if Kevin Abel’s arm has 300 pitches it can lend us over the next week.

I think you’ve got to have him go tomorrow in a must win. Would also keep him in play for Sunday/Monday if it came to it.

The Saturday turn is brutal on the arms, even if you’re as deep as we are.

Looks like we’ll face ucla. Time to roll the dice. Most likely will face LSU’s ace Thursday. Need Root and GG for that.

Start Mac/bybee and hope for the best against UCLA.

It's a 2 run game starting the 4th with a long rain delay under way.

LSU is like an 80% favorite at this point. I don’t make the odds….

This is working out as well as it possibly could have outside of just straight up beating LSU. Everything has worked in our favor today.

Now we just need UCLA to come back and win after the delay is over.

Yeah, I only want to have to beat LSU once.

The flip side would be LSU wins this game with Eason not spent. That would be worst case.

Looked better today though and we put down a hot team that others were struggling with.

Everyone has been struggling to deal with their bats. In the eight tournament games they played prior to ours, they averaged 9.2 runs a game with a median of 8.5. To throw a no hitter against that is pretty wild.

On the other hand, we're the only team out of nine to score only three runs, and this is supposed to be our most potent and consistent offense. Oddly enough, opponents have averaged 9.1 runs against them with a median of 8.

The song and dance of our bats after May is a dated one. We scored only one against LSU, and we of course scored three, five, and seven in the other three games during the regular season.

LSU lost a game to Little Rock in their Regional and damn near lost a second. Little Rock went 0–2 against us and didn't score a single run. The Almighty Anderson let WVU put up nine runs against him in the Supers. Of course, they shrug that off just in time for the CWS and become a championship caliber team.

I truly don't get what consistently happens to us at the end of the year and why so many others avoid it.

Part of it has to be the difference between Baum and Charles Schwab field. Omaha just plays way bigger than what we are used too and I think it has a real affect on our bats. Not just this year but in years past too.

It's the Nate Thompson approach at the plate, swinging for the fences and chasing balls out of the zone.

Yeah we probably lose the first super game against Tennessee if it wasn’t at Baum because Helfrick’s home run that gave us the lead barely scraped the fence
