My son has fallen head over heels for the Hogs the last few years. The year of 2021 really sealed it for him with the basketball team making their first Elite Eight under Muss, the baseball team at #1 most of the year and Kopps having an incredible season, and the football program blasting Texas and reemerging from the dark ages (briefly?).

I tried to temper his enthusiasm by saying that all glory is fleeting when it comes to being a Razorback fan, but it was no use. Poor kid doesn't know the life of pain and frustration he's choosing.

This happened to me in 1998, I was 12 years old and it was Nutt’s first season. Then the Stoernover happened. I still remember being the only one awake in the house late that night just doing a thousand yard stare into the tv like this:

Not just us.

SOURCE: @LSUbaseball RHP Grant Taylor, a projected weekend starter and the No. 15 prospect in the 2023 #MLBDraft class by @d1baseball, will miss the 2023 season because of a UCL injury. #LSU clearly has depth, but Taylor had an incredible fall.

I was 6 when the bug hit me. Went to my first game that year in Fayetteville. Hogs beat Tulsa and went on to go undefeated in the '64 season.

Then the game vs Texas in '69 happened.

I've learned over the years not to get to high or too low over a band of Razorbacks.

Prayers for your son, it's a long bumpy road.

Lulz, I was 10 and that was the first Razorback game I remember watching on TV. It prepped me for all of *motions around* this.

Still couldn't save me from the Sugar Bowl. That hit me like a freight train.

I'm convinced that if I went to a therapist, he'd probably be able to connect several of my current issues to that foul ball in 2018.

As a long time Hog fan I’ve learned to not get too excited about a lead in a game.

I go into wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, and there it is mode…..

But the times we actually persevere and overcome self destruction are worth hanging in there for.

I challenge any program in the country to try to challenge us for the most snakebit title.

Ole miss probably has us beat. But they don't usually get as close to glory as us either

They are definitely in the running, but as you said our bad crap seems to knock us out of high level success.

Yeah idk what's worse though. Making it to the title game and watching Reggie fish fumble the punt, or havING the season aligned so you might be able to go and watching a team convert 4th and 25 on you to prevent you from going to the championship game.

it just pisses me off that they got a NC in baseball.... Before us.

I remember being in college and watching the Stoernover ...

And the university was in ... TN.

I don't think it would have bothered me as much if they hadn't gone through us to do it. Meeting Ole Miss in the postseason had been free money for a good while until of course they meet us in Omaha.

No matter what Fish did, Nutt would have always found ways to lose that game.

Losers never win.

Ole Miss Football hasn't won a conference title since the 60s. Basketball is terrible and Bianco needed to get his seat hot to win it all.

I watched a lot of exciting wins under Nutt but plenty of excruciating losses as well. Just like under all the coaches we’ve had, except for morris, he didn’t win shite…
