Really proud of that guy. Maybe my favorite player of the Shula era.

I remember Joe Kines talking about him. Basically said that when he was explaining a concept to the defense, he would always look over at DeMeco. If DeMeco looked a little confused, he would just start over again because that meant the rest of the defense was completely lost.

I remember the commercial

Demeco Ryans IS the university of Alabama.

Counting their nfl careers, he was a better LB than any player from the Saban era except maybe CJ Moseley,

Looks like Demeco is a consensus popular choice of DC amongst 49er fans. Demeco was a fantastic player here and in the Pros. Speaks very well too. Wish him the best.

Feel like he’s kind of Alabama’s defense version of Shaun Alexander.

I remember that game against Arkansas when Demeco made every tackle. One of my all time favorites

One of my all-time favorites and classmates. Absolutely great player and person. Congrats to Demeco.

Also, the now NFL DC's twitter profile looks like an Alabama fan account

Yeah, 2 of the guys that could have surpassed him had too many off-field issues to succeed. Ro and the Murderous Heat Seeking Missile Foster.

He has helped Fred Warner become arguable the best inside linebacker in football. As a Bama fan and Niners fan I hope he kills it.

Only worried about the secondary, front seven is solid if healthy. Really wanted Niners to take Surtain. If you are a Niners fan the health of every player on the roster seems in peril and cause for concern so it is par for the course.

So do you want Mac Jones? I think we are taking Lance.

For what Kyle typically wants Mac is perfect so I am starting to believe the 49ers are going to take him. He runs the play, gets everyone in the correct position, usually makes the right read and is on time and accurate with the ball. I'm still nervous about Shanahan taking him but at the same time I am not a fan of the decision making of any of the other first round guys. I feel like they all have the same problem as Garopallo where just know they are throwing 1-3 balls that should be picked every game.

DeMeco Ryans was obviously great, but I also loved his wingman Freddie Roach who’s on our staff now.

Funny story on DeMeco. Not sure if they still do this, but the business school used to send out surveys to former graduates so they could gather data such as starting salary to use for marketing and benchmarking. The year after he graduated he actually responded to this survey, and due to the response rate the average starting salary for a marketing grad went from something like $40k to $150k for a one-year period because he included his rookie contract and signing bonus.

Coaches used to say if they were explaining something to the defense and Demeco looked confused they knew they needed to start over because there was no way anyone knew what to do if Demeco was confused.

yea reminds me of when we took C.J. Beathard in the third when he was going undrafted. He had everything Kyle wanted.
