I can't remember the last time where there weren't at least a handful of known studs returning. I suppose I would have to say that it is Koolaid. Or Booker? McClellan? After that, not many players really stand out. That isn't to say that we don't have a lot of "good" players returning, or guys just waiting to blow up, and there are some big time recruits coming in. I honestly think that Downs is going to come in and be one of our best players right off the bat.

Thoughts?

Eta: completely forgot about Dallas Turner, and Latham.

Dallas Turner but he's a dick head. Way too many after the whistle incidents with that kid. Insanely talented player though.

Jamarion Miller is our most talented skill player on offense, imo. He looks like a future NFL stud.

Brandon Miller is by far a better basketball player and any Alabama football player is in their sport. Miller is absolutely carrying the bball team at times. And he makes it look easy.

I'm not sure. Don't take me wrong, I love Brandon Miller, I think he's incredible. But, I think there is a greater likelihood of one of these football players making a pro bowl then there is of BM making an all star game. In 5 years is there a greater chance that BM will be a top 50 player in the NBA or that one of these guys will be top 50 in NFL? It's hard to say.

Miller is currently listed as number 3 in the projected nba drafts that I see.
The top player is in a foreign professional league and number 2 is in the G league. Miller is an 18yr old kid.
I dont think any of the football players listed above are currently projected that high in any draft. Several are good players and you dont know how any will do at the next level, but for how they are currently performing, Miller is all by himself--so far.

Even without Miller, this team is better than last year, and better than any team under Avery or Grant.

Good debate topic. ProBowl requires more football players combined with less interest in the game. Hence opportunity for fringe pro bowl prospects to get named.

Basketball is so different with fewer players in the lineup and a little less apathy for the All Star game.

I believe Turner will get a lot of Will Anderson comparisons/talk. But I agree with you - he must go blind and tackle so angry he doesn’t know that he has a handful of facemask or something. Once he looked so heartbroken when he did it
