Well that sucked....LOL just kidding... it was a great trip except for:
1) our pathetic showing on the field in the RB
2) heavy rain 3 of the 5 days

Thank you very much again for everyone giving me good advice. We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Van Nuys north of UCLA

Tues - checked out Santa Monica Pier, muscle beach and the ocean, etc... it was the best day weather wise

Wed - best day - spent 4-5 hours at The Getty. A must see. I was really impressed

Thurs - Parked on the street next to the Post office 2.5 hours before kickoff. 80% indiana fans unfortunately. Once we got through the gates, I was SO surprised how nicely everything is laid out at the Rose Bowl. Never had to wait for the bathroom, Huge array of food and drinks to choose from, no bathroom waiting. We were in the area just to the side of the band, 10 rows from the top on the 15 yard line. I was shocked how awesome the view was. No need to pay top dollar to see the game at RB. Had our picture taken with Greg Byrne. Nice guy, he was just walkin around in the stands greeting bama fans.

Friday - went to the aquarium in Long beach

Saturday - went to The Broad downtown

We decided to pass on the Laker games...Huge Spurs fan since 1990..couldn't stomach paying into the Laker program :lol: :lol:

Hope everyone else (Sandkhan, etc..) who went had a good time like we did.. :cheers:

I booked us at the Olivia hotel across the street from the later day saints temple in West LA. Looks good, but can change if necessary.

I think we are going to catch the Lakers/Pistons game on Tue night.

We will hike to the observatory one of the free days

Fish off the SM pier if allowed, and probably walk to muscle beach and famous bball courts . see skateboarding/surfing and stuff

might drive north on PCH for awhile. My wife and I thought it was really cool driving it south from SF a decade ago.

We are there all day Tues - all day Sat

Trying to decide what part of metro area to stay?

We have a car rented

Will dedicate entire day Thursday to RB/Pasedena area

Some ideas we have been told about, but would like to get opinions:
SM Pier
West Hollywood
Universal Studios
Malibu Drive

I want it to be active. He is not interested in Museums, etc..
We would like to see local culture, food, music
Walking long distances is no probblem if it is an interesting route.

I feel the same way.... I just $35 down at +2500.. I think we are not the only ones GUMPING... My other 3 sites are now showing 1500 1600 and 2000 so it looks like it's dropping.

I bet if Sears makes an announcement that he is coming back it will drop to +900 or less

Hey guys I have the flu and I can't go to the game tomorrow. I got 2 really good seats together in lower level section 112. Currently, the lower level is almost sold out and you can't get a pair for less than a 150. I'm just looking for a hundred bucks for the pair if anybody wants to go. I paid 134 about 3 months ago.

I went to the Gonzaga game last year and had a blast even though we lost. Just message me if you're interested.
