Nah but he is a serious threat. We all know how good he can get an offense going.

He can be a serious threat... and he can also royally shite the bed. That sums up Lane's entire career as a head coach.

Given Alabama's history in Baton Rouge, Lane's history against Alabama, etc. You don't have to stretch too far to imagine Alabama going in there and pulling off what will likely be a spread upset albeit not a ranking one.

My expectation is Kane is going to do some junk mush rush like Kirby used to do and Leavitt will dink and dunk us to death across the middle

Coaching needs to fix this. We handled it awfully at UT.

Playing in crowd noise is nothing new.

It was the first start of a backup center who is actually a guard.

What do you guys expect? Try to be realistic

He also caught the best nose tackle in college football and arguably the best nose tackle NFL prospect since our own Quinnen Williams in his first start at center.

Waldrep has deficiencies but he got a tough assignment in his first start at center.

You got it.
Realistically I think Lane will scheme up a way to exploit our Defense and has been dreaming of this moment all year.

Realistically.
Grubb is not doing that cause… based on KDB he’s a “great play caller”.

I don’t give a shite about “history in Baton Rouge”… I hope I’m wrong but I’m expecting more of the UGA and TN looking offense. Defense will hold but break because they’re on the field too long.

Exactly.

For all accounts we should have our starting center back and we can move Waldrep back to guard in place of #70. If we get RW and EJ back we're in good shape of offense.

Defense we really need Terrence Green back. He is that important for run stop. If he is back and playing well it will help us to force LSU to rely on their QBs arm which creates opportunities for turnovers.

Above average? How about 31-10-1 in BR. IMO, one of the most remarkable records in American sports, 24-6-1, IIRC, since they started playing annually in 1964. (I was at that game at LF as a young boy. IIRC, Alabama won 17-9, Pat Screen seemed to convert one 3rd or 4th down after another. But not enough. Too lazy to check.)

Having RCW and Delgatty back, if they are truly healthy, will make a big difference. Same with Green and Brown on D - 2 of the 3 best players on D - if they are fully healthy or close.

Ryan doesn’t get nearly the credit he deserves as one who distorts the opposing D. Helps the running game, as well as the passing game.

Not optimistic we can beat LSU. The only positive I see is the layoff will help us more than them. We really needed a break, and they were on a roll. I really believe their offense will do better against our defense than the other way around, which will be the difference in the game. I hope I am wrong and the strange season across college football to date may continue.

People are so hung up on the UT game, and thats understandable, but im pretty convinced that Bama and UGA beat the shite out of each other so thoroughly that both teams were running on fumes the following weekend. Only explanation i can think of for UGA losing at home to a bad AU team, and us getting whooped by an average UT team.

I think we'll see a rested, much healthier, re-energized team next weekend. Bama by 10.

Grubb has too big of an ego to change anything (ask Mike Macdonald), and he will not install any mesh reads/potential QB runs like the Power Read/ Zone Read/ reading the BS of Counter, or the designed QB iso off of misdirection that Sheridan installed last time Bama was in BR to face Baker’s defense.

LSU fans are very aware of Baker’s consistent struggles defending mobile QBs. They will look like the 86’ Bears for 3 weeks then get 40 dropped on them by Milroe and Sellers.

He made Milroe look like the best player in CFB and LSU fans still have an oddly (respectful) perception of #4 compared to basically any other person who watched him play QB at Alabama.

Sheridan was willing to accept #4 couldn’t throw the ball 35 times and be successful, so he adapted to what #4 could do well.

The best we can hope for (imo) is for Grubb to keep 2 TE’s in the field the majority of the game. Even if he does does split them out as WRs, it will still keep Baker from putting 6 DBs on the field, which is the personnel package where he blitzes just about every play with tight man coverage behind it.

Pritchett, Edwards and Ford give the offense versatility, balance and somehow Grubb is actually willing to leave 1 of them in for pass protection.

I think we will have a good idea after the first 2 series of the game…..If Grubb comes out there in 4 or 5 wide and allows LSU to send the house (and they will) and KR is running for his life (he will be) and it looks like UT or UK 3.0 to start the game, then I think it will go the same way of UTk.

However, there is that small % of hope they Grubb starts off in 11 or 12 personnel and gets the TEs involved early with short quick passes and runs Brown and Crowell early and sticks with it.

That, and the defense forcing 3 turnovers (2 that lead directly to TDs), is their path to winning.

Either way, I’ll be there in TS hoping to see 100K drunk Cajuns filing out early one last time…crazy we don’t play LSU for the next 4 years. I look forward to this game more than any other.

If we don't turn it over and Keelon actually has a good day we can win easily.

If both of those things don't happen we will look helpless, same as we have all year when they don't happen.

They're nowhere near a dominant defense.

Tennessee is absolutely dominant if you call plays that don't respect the things they're outstanding at.

If you call run plays into the arms of the best DL talent in America they're elite.

If you call pass plays that take 5 seconds when you can only protect for 3-4 they're elite.

If you put your team in 3rd and 9 every down they're elite.

Lane Kiffin schemes plays to take advantage of matchups like you see in basketball.

Ryan Grubb schemes plays to run an offense regardless of what the schematic advantages are because I think fundamentally he believes his system is so good it doesnt matter who the opponent is.

Let Keelon use his legs more to wear down LSU's defense.
