Texas is going to destroy Michigan.

Looks like Dan Lanning spent most of the offseason telling people he turned down Bama instead of preparing for Idaho.

Michigan being this year's TCU would make me soooo happy.

My main takeaway from tonight's game is that at BK you can have it your way.
And I guess also that targeting is most egregious when you don't make contact with anyone.

When did football players start wearing shorts instead of pants?

It’s weird how every DC we get has a great defense with our talent…except for the one Saban kept for 5 years

Pete caused Mack Wilson to lose a bunch of money. Never seen Bama have such poor linebacker play

Nah. Blame Pete for a lot of things but Mack Wilson cost Mack Wilson a bunch of money. That dude was as anti-process as it gets. He was way more interested in his social media presence than he was spending time in the film room.

That was one of, if not the most questionable decisions that Saban made at Bama. From what I understand, Saban was really impressed with Golding’s football mind, and maybe he really is brilliant and everyone else is dumb. But at some point results have to matter. Golding consistently took a defense with A+ talent and got B- results.

Could be the case but our ILB play when he was DC was not good.

I have zero knowledge of his social media, but I know that he digressed as soon as Pete took over. I know that linebacker play suffered the entire time Pete was here. I’ve never seen linebackers sucked in and “caught in the wash” as much in my life

Be careful or you'll summon TomFromBama with a 12 page essay on why Golden was a great coach and his shortcomings was everyone else's fault.

All of this.
Doesn’t matter if it’s business, military or football.
If a genius level strategy doesn’t get positive results it’s not actually a genius strategy.
It’s why I liked Pruitt over the other DCs we’ve had. That guy is definitely not a genius, but he was aggressive and the players weren’t having to think, they were flying around.
When we were being told by NFL guys that our defense under Golding is more complicated than what they run in a professional league for adults it was time to reconsider some things.
I believe that had Saban stayed our defensive scheme was going to have to be updated again given the higher rate of roster churn in the NIL era. It was just too complicated to avoid busts when plugging first year guys into the secondary in particular. The fact that the he didn’t have anyone he trusted to handle that evolution like he did in the past likely played a role in his decision to retire because he’s obviously still sharp as a tack.
