I know for a lot of you, based on the lack of celebratory Iron Bowl threads, take this game for granted and would rather focus on the negative aspects of how we played in the game. I, on the other hand, celebrate victories in this game more than I do when we beat Tennessee. For those of us from a part of the state where a bunch of Barners are located, this is THE biggest game of the year and it royally sucks when we lose. I'm 36 so the days when kids actually pay attention to the game was in the mid to late 90s. We won my freshman year in high school and then not again until my senior year at UA. Those years when it looked like we would never break the streak were awful, and I just wanted to say how happy I am now that we have 3 in a row over them.

That is all, thank you for your time

Yes - we beat an Auburn team that was below average and in the middle of a coaching search. Our defense was hot garbage. Oddly enough, our offense was a bright spot. We have a lot to fix right now

At this point in the season, this was THE game of the year we had to win and I am thrilled about it. I would wager I have the healthiest dislike of auburn of anyone on the board.

Correct. Happy. You are allowed to both enjoy a thing and understand huge issues exist.

I get it. It's human nature to focus on the negativity sometimes especially after being spoiled the last 15 years and knowing we aren't the same as we were just a couple years ago. BUT this is a huge rivalry and no matter how we win, it's most important that we actually have the "W" in that column. Nobody is going to really remember that we looked like crap a few years from now. I get riled up about this game more than others because when AU wins they put it all over social media and bumper stickers and throw it in our face all year. When we win it's just "business as usual" and I hate that phrase. Sometimes I wish we could be more arrogant and in-your face when we win at least for a whole week depending on if we are in the SEC championship.

Same age range and I'm from Columbus which is roughly 30 minutes from Auburn.

Yeah high school was absolute hell and their behavior was what truly drove me to the Alabama side as I was merely a casual fan during that period in my life. I was more concerned with trying to achieve my unachievable goal of fricking every girl at my high school than I was football... until Tuberville started holding up fingers.

I was in college for the Shula years. Saturday was the only time this season I've actually gotten emotionally invested enough to start yelling at the TV. frick Auburn. I hope they completely frick up their hire, end up with their own version of Derek Dooley, and spend the next 5-10 years digging their way out of that hole.

I like your attitude. We could watch the Iron Bowl together and have equal hatred of them.

Leaving the stadium, it was almost as if we lost. No emotion. It was quiet.

That's sad. Looks like some of our fans will need to see us lose to them more than one time in a row to really appreciate what we currently have.

They will generally always have more emotion and desire to beat us. We ARE the reason auburn exists. For us, they are a pesky little sister we have to deal with while focusing on a championship. This year was just a kick in the balls for everyone with many questions about the direction of the program.

It made me so happy to see Cadillac Williams rally the team and got them playing as hard as they could. There wasn't a single ounce of quit in them during the entire 60 minutes of the game. You HAVE to respect that.

That also makes me happy because this wasn't like the 2012 game where auburn gave up and we just kept scoring against guys who didn't care. Those kids fought hard and we beat them by 22 points. They gave us everything they had and still got their asses beat.

frick auburn.

It was raining so a lot of people wanted to get out of there.

That said, our team left the field the same way the fans left the stadium. Just lifeless. This season was a letdown for sure but it would’ve been nice to see the team celebrate the win over their biggest rival at least a little but the players and coaches mostly just walked off the field like we had beaten Vandy.

Not calling for a ridiculous celebration like the barn had for A&M, but there were still plenty of fans there willing to celebrate but not one player ran over to the student section. We had the Bryce send off but that was it.

That is what irks me a little. The team celebrates with the fans/students after the Tennessee game with their cigars but absolutely nothing when we beat Auburn. At least run over there and give them fives or something. AU players celebrate like they won the superbowl and their students/fans act like it too based on the evidence of the crowd rushing the field after they beat us

Outside of the student section years, it's always been quiet leaving the stadium for me. Always. I just assumed this was the norm for non-students... even though it's the complete opposite in most other stadiums.

Although I must add the crowd noise inside of the stadium was the loudest I've heard it in years.

seemed like plenty of people were pretty excited after the game

LINK

furthermore, our fans have pouted this entire season, why would you expect anything to be different at the stadium? I mean, that seems to be the general sentiment of this entire board. No championship=failure. Players read these message boards, twitter, facebook, etc. But y'all are complaining that they weren't excited and appreciative enough?

Bryce's exit was one of the cooler things I've seen in the last few years at BDS and you could tell he was moved by it.

I watched the Auburn Football Review last night, Caddy was so hoarse he could hardly speak. And while talking with Burcham, he never even looked up. He was 100% spent & put everything he had into that game. Salute.
