They do that "who is playing well right now" for the NCAA tourney. This is all about the body of work, the whole schedule. Sc can't duck the head to head loss. If the committee moves them ahead of us, then it's all bullshite

Yes. Until football catches up with basketball and runs weekly NET rankings and uses those as the “Ncaa Evaluation Tool,” football playoff choices are bogus. Teams with few or even no Quad 1 or Quad 2 games and wins should be tossed out. Playing Quad 3 and quad 4 “buy” games should disqualify teams from playoffs- but may get the 6 wins to go to the Poulin Weedeater Bowl.

No bracket that includes Miami should be taken seriously.

I don’t think Miami is in over Alabama And even though USCe is probably the best 3 loss team right now. They lost to Bama and Ole Miss. And Bama is ranked higher. One projection I saw had at PennSt then playing Boise State. That would be alright with me.

I did until last night, but the media posturing and Vegas odds are pretty clear now: Miami is out. I do still think SMU has to win the ACC however.
South Carolina is out due to losing to both of the other SEC teams that are in consideration

If they’re going to eliminate Miami, I believe they will eliminate SMU for the same reason

I agree smu is out unless they beat Clemson

Good morning and welcome to this past Sunday where some of us have been trying to tell people this would be the case
The melt is going to be great. Especially for the alters on here

That’s correct. SMU whether they know it or not are in an elimination game. ACC doesn’t have the grit this year and the committee has shown that in their rankings.

Exactly.
We explain this and get downvotes lol. I mean they lost their big game of the year to a B12 team that didn't make their CG and the committee doesn't even rate the B12.
SMU loses again and they will tumble.

This is how desperate and pathetic the media is being.
Louisville lost to Stanford two weekends ago but we should ignore that. However please don't ignore Alabama or Ole Miss loss a weekend ago..
Oh and please ignore Miami lost this past weekend after playing not one currently ranked team on the schedule. Ditto for SMU if they lose next week.
It's pathetic inconsistency to avoid what they don't want

Mike Rodak is a prick. That guy hates Alabama athletics.

Luginbill and Sallee never even mentioned Alabama at the spot. It was Miami or South Carolina
If we want to pull the LSU injury argument then wipe a touchdown off the board for Vandy with the roughing call
When the one arguing South Carolina heavily is an Auburn fan it’s hard to take it seriously

They really do not want the ACC to fold even though at this point it's a near inevitability. To some extent I don't disagree with the sentiment, but the solution isn't to hand out what amounts to participation trophies.

Right. Sallee is a joke. He has no objectivity whatsoever because he’s an Auburn alumnus.

If the committee follows today's AP rankings that moved Miami to 14 and Alabama to 11, Alabama should be in no matter what happens in the ACC title game, but an SMU win should seal it. A Georgia lost is another possibility. Not making the playoffs after laying eggs at Vandy and Okie would not bother me. At least half the field in the playoffs can beat Alabama.

Honestly I feel like OM has a much better argument than South Carolina- SC lost to every projected CFP pick they've played, as well as both OM and Alabama.

But SC has no "bad" losses. Their worst loss, to LSU, they lost their QB for the second half, and they got screwed badly by the refs. Probably the worst game outcome affecting bad call of the college football season.
