ND insiders, according to social media, are stating that ND is ready and willing to match whatever Alabama offers Rees (if offered the job).

If that’s the case, this might be another pointless Ryan Grubb situation.

I’m not sure what will be worse the playcalling or people saying “Reese”.

Well we just got rid of Golden.

Main differences, to me at least, are they apparently already had an interview over Zoom yesterday and Grubb was already getting paid double what BoB was making here. I don't think Rees moving from his alma mater to Alabama is a money issue. Hell, even his dad works for the school.

That's why is figured he stayed at ND when Kelly left and didn't take the other OC jobs. Makes sense that he thought he had a shot at the HC job. Still might one day.

When will we learn it is never one of the names floated around?

Never. We cling from headline to headline until someone is officially named.

Doug Nussmeier is the top candidate for Miami OC.

At this point, bring back Jim McElwain. TWO TIME NATL CHAMP WINNER. UNDEFEATED SEASON HOLDER. SHARK HUMPER. SON OF A GUN. LET'S GO.

Notre Dame sources are reporting that Rees has been offered the position. And it’s in the range of $2 million a year.

I thought Rees was the KU QB that year they made the orange bowl with the HC roughly the same shape as the bowl mascot.

Young, but I like it way better than Grubb who wasn't designing the offense on his own

Ryan Fowler just had a guy Dave Bartoo hiring consultant ranked the possible names of OC and DC. Ryan Grubb would have been an excellent hire He said Pruitt would be an excellent hire. Grantham is a good DC but he is feast or famine. Not a top 25 coordinator. Bill O’Brien grade out at 47 out of all OC and he said Tommy Reese grades out at 49 so it would be at best lateral. He also said you have to account that ND has far superior talent to most of their opponents so that elevated his numbers a bit. He said he wouldn’t even discuss Derek Dooley if asked his answer would be no period.

He must read my posts!

...or I just say the obvious some on here don't like and hate me (and will probably hate him) for saying.

Anyways, I just hope Saban has had the media looking left and he goes right, surprising us with some amazing hires.

Notre Dame routinely plays a schedule anywhere from top 5 to top 30, so this is hard for me to believe as a serious take

Well I guess money wasn't the reason why Grubb didn't take the job (assuming he was offered).

Why didn’t we go after Garrett Riley again?? How did we fall so far? Good Lord, what a disappointment.

If Saban legitimately waited to find a replacement for BoB until he officially left, then he’s slipping worse than we thought.

Don't question Saban. Ever. Just stop, if you're so smart you aren't you Saban?

If Reese is indeed the hire it doesn’t get me excited but I don’t hate it. It’s truly one of those wait and see hires.

Heck I remember a lot of people here were excited when we hired BOB and we saw what happened there.

We all wanted a change and that’s what we’re getting, for better or worse who knows at this point
