Can’t remember which player but there was a girlfriend issue with one of them around that time - seems like she was messing around with another person in the program (player, staff or coach) and the player left after the season.

Neither Pickett, nor Gottfried, returned calls seeking comment.
This comes on the heels of a Sunday night announcement that Pickett was suspended "indefinitely" from basketball-related activities. It was Pickett's second such punishment. The source said Pickett has not shown up consistently for meetings, academic-related appointments and other responsibilities.

Also this morning, Pickett's father sounded off to his hometown paper
The Decatur Daily.
He said this:
"He told them that he wanted to leave," the elder Rico Pickett told The Decatur Daily. "They told him they weren't going to release him. This is their way of fighting back, saying that he is suspended for academic reasons. He has the same grades that he has had since he has been at Alabama."

I liked Rico Pickett. I thought he showed potential. I also Liked Ricky Tarrant when he transferred in.

My official NCAA tournament prediction for Alabama (not that anybody cares):
I think it's about 80% likely we'll be bounced the first weekend.
However, if we're not, I think we'll have about a 50/50 shot at making the Final Four.
Reasoning: As I've said several times, the team doesn't respect the game or playing to a pre-set standard. They play exactly as hard as they think their opponent deserves.
IF they survive the first weekend, they'll be excited and focused the remainder of the way, and THAT Alabama team can beat anybody in the country.
But I think it's much more likely they get beat by a lower seed early in the tournament.
