The portal destroyed junior colleges in football and basketball.

It sure did. Kind of sad. I'm not sure where college athletics ends up now....

Oats is close to getting me to the same place Saban did with recruiting. Where I know we are getting great players, and quit following recruiting to avoid the BS and drama.

This describes me so much when it comes to football recruiting. Was so tuned in at the start and 4 years in, the inevitable top class was going to happen so I lost interest. I don't know if I'll ever get quite that way with Basketball since it's my favorite sport to follow, but I don't think I'll ever go back to the recruiting fanatic I was during the "Round Ball Banter" days on Scout.com.

It's one of the benefits of living in a time where we have much more of an online following. Now I just let all of y'all do the hard work as I sit back and check here or the Twitter group for updates instead of ransacking the internet to figure out who Grant was going to place 2nd for or to find illegal streams for Watford to use in his early high school days.

It's the "Bama Hoops" community page.

As he should. As long as he doesn't also put his name in the portal I'm good with it.

Good luck to Mark. He deserves all the blessings he's received and will get. Gonna miss the hell out of him.

Now that it's official, let's go get a PG.

Does this board see Sears getting drafted?
Personally I don't think so.

I think he’d be a mid to late 2nd round guy at the absolute best. Not sure if that would keep him in the draft or not.

Sears can't improve his draft stock, so he might want to get stared on his plans are after college - NBA, G-League, Europe, or whatever.

If I was Sears, I’d go through this process and see what teams think where i’d fall. Then I’d discuss with Oats and see what the maximum NIL they can put together for me and see what gives me the most.

It's a terrible draft, so yea I think he would. The big question is would be it be in the 1st round or not, and if it's the 2nd does the team drafting him see him a flyer or a guy with a legitimate chance to make the NBA roster at some point in the first 2 years.

I think most would agree that a late 2nd round grade could be expected.

His comparison in 2018...

Jalen Brunson was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2nd round, 33rd overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

I think he takes it and is gone.

I remember when here someone basically called me an idiot for saying multiple times that he could get drafted late in the 2nd if Mark kept up what he was doing early in the season.

But he were are, and nobody can say for certain. I'm not right or wrong so far. But the fact that it's this close speaks how great and efficient Sears played this year. Mighty Mouse is a bad motherfricker.

Gotta assume this is the plan since he's retaining his eligibility.

I just wanna say…no where in his post did he say Thanks or Goodbye to Alabama…. I say his return is genuinely 50/50 and Will depends if we give him enough NIL.
