It’s like everyone is leaving? I get that’s the way of the world now but we went to the final 4, FFS come back and win it all.

I just wanna say…no where in his post did he say Thanks or Goodbye to Alabama…. I say his return is genuinely 50/50 and Will depends if we give him enough NIL.

I think if he's certain a team is going to take him in the second, he's gone. Last year, Chris Livingston was the last pick on the draft. Here's his contact details....

quote:

Chris Livingston signed a 4 year / $7,639,302 contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, including $3,011,420 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $1,909,826. In 2023-24, Livingston will earn a base salary of $1,119,563, while carrying a cap hit of $1,119,563 and a dead cap value of $1,119,563.

If he's actually going to get drafted, he's gone, and deservingly. But if it's an ufa or 2 way deal, we'll see what NIL we can match.

I would've thought that would keep Griffen and Walters. But I'm not surprised with Pringle. We're bringing in centers who actually fit our offense and playing style. Pringle can't play the 4. He's kinda maxed out, but probably doesn't want to see the for less.

Sears absolutely has to test the draft. There's still guaranteed money with the last pick in the 2nd round. Guys who managed to get a 2 way deal converted to a regular contract (i assume it's league minimum) still get a guaranteed year. Ricky council did that, and has 1 year guaranteed in a 4 year deal.

Ricky Council IV signed a 4 year / $7,400,000 contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, including $880,261 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $1,850,000. In 2023-24, Council IV will earn a base salary of $880,261

Nature of College Basketball. Every year your whole team is pretty much gonna be brand new now.

I saw that Jaykwon Walton is back in the portal. I'm gonna go smoke a blunt anywhere except the main bar strip and think about how we're lucky he didn't come here and shoot 28% from 3.

This cracks we up...

Rick and Ruth Council are Ricky’s parents. Along with his parents, Ricky’s family includes his three older siblings: Ricky Council II, Ricky Council III

I hope Sears comes back but wish him well either way. I do think he could solidify himself as the greatest player in program history with another year, and I don't think we should underestimate how much you can monetize being the greatest player in Alabama history for the rest of your life.

Nelson on the other hand should definitely come back imo. Unlike Sears, his NBA stock has a lot of room to grow with one more year in CNO's system, especially now that he'd be playing next to a real center. He should come back.

PG - Sears
SG - Wrightsell, Youngblood,
SF - Reid, Mallette, Cunningham
PF - Nelson, Stevenson, Dioubate
C - Sherrell, Wague

Let's say no one else leaves... What would you realistically want from the portal?

I think I'd go Omoruyi and Fland. Obviously I'd like McNeeley too, but we definitely need another PG and a defensive anchor. I also would like Holloway (even though if Sears comes back I think he loses interest), but Fland is a little easier to pair with Sears on the floor than Holloway would be and has more of a defensive presence.

I know there's been some smoke, but so many people seem like Omoruyi is a given. Weirdly, I think I'd feel more confident, if everyone wasn't so confident

No clue if we get him or not. Just saying between Sherrill and whoever we get in the portal, we should be upgraded at that position next year which would benefit Nelson tremendously.

Is Fland realistic? Unless he was already having second thoughts I assumed he'd just follow Cal to Arkansas.

He says he's completely wide open, and from what I can remember there wasn't that big of a gap between us and Kentucky when he picked them. We've made a Final Four since and Arkansas isn't Kentucky. Arkansas is probably the betting favorite, but enough has changed in the months since his decision that I think it's somewhat realistic even if it's not likely.

I want Aden. Just for the hailstorm on the webs. Plus, I think Oats could squeeze the positives in his game Bruce couldn't. He lost confidence as the year went on. Oats system allows him to play free. Also, less NIL money than Boogie I'd imagine

Aden's shooting was not good and his attitude was worse. Not really sure what he does well. I dont give a shite about the barner lulz. Do not want.

Nelson and Stevenson can't be together, and in the end, only one of them will remain in Bama.

That's a tough thought. But i expect Grant will still play some 5 with Stevenson at the 4. We need more than 2 centers. There will be games where the refs call everything, and we'll need big bodies that aren't just 5 fouls (and kill any leads or momentum). And while Wague flashed moments of potential early in the season, I'm not some that he's more than 5 fouls.

We're gonna run 10 guys most nights. How that works out for get interesting. Especially if we land Cliff O, AH , and another PG. It could get crowded.

What we need more than anything would be for Wrightsell to take the step like Sears did, and be able to be the primary ball handler and run the offense. But Sears was always solid at driving and finishing at the rim, Wrightsell has been more of a spot up scorer.

It's what made me wonder why we got Mallette and Youngblood, who are about 6'4. That gives us 3 guards. Youngblood could probably play as a small wing, since we'll have solid bigs to protect the rim, instead of Griffen or Walters playing the 4. But I'm not gonna question Oats thinking too much. He jumped on them absurdly quick for a reason.

Grant could also very easily play the 3. He has enough length and quickness to be able to switch around a bit. He and Stevenson could definitely be on the court together without either HAVING to play the 5.
