After looking at Tennessee and Auburn play, they don't look any better than Kentucky, really. Interesting to see how these last 8 games play out

I'm curious if Texas is gonna end up hiring the interim coach. He's done a good job of keeping it together.

Alabama moved up to 3 in the AP.

Auburn felll out of the top 25 so our game vs them Saturday with gameday there wont be between two ranked teams unfortunately.

He made it to the NCAAT 1 time in 10 years between Fresno and UTEP, both of which play in potential multi-bid leagues. He has certainly done a commendable job under difficult circumstances, but that would be the typical emotional interim tag removal that almost always backfires.

I'm not sure nationally that people understand the raucous GUMP energy that a 1st/2nd round in Birmingham will bring.

That shite is gonna be electric.

And terrifying since we always lose there.

We match up pretty well with both Tennessee and Auburn, of course, anything can happen when playing on the road but both teams are going to need quite a few things to go right for them and a few things wrong for us.

Tennessee has an elite defense but I don't trust their offense at all. They're a top seed to watch go down early in the tournament because it takes one team to get hot shooting and they're not built for higher-scoring games.

Auburn just doesn't have the dudes this year and their backcourt is average at best. Broome is a nice player but their frontcourt isn't going to carry them to many big wins.

I may be eating crow in a couple of weeks but as of right now, I'm a bit less nervous over those road games compared to 3-4 weeks ago.

Yeah he probably won't be named their coach, he did terribly at UTEP recently. He is doing a good job this year but it has more to do with their talent than him imo.

If it wasn’t that team in that arena, I’d feel pretty damn good about getting a win. Their calling card is defense but they struggle defending guards. They are putrid at hitting 3s whereas we are elite at defending them. Wendell Green is a nice piece but not the guy you want forcing the issue.

All of that being said, the place is gonna be a nut house and anything can happen

The top of the SEC has been pretty strong for the last 5-6 years or so. It's those bottom 4-5 teams that always seem to be like 125+ that drag down the perception of the conference. Right now the gap between UTk (2) and Mizzou (48) is narrower than the gap between Mizzou and Vandy (107). It's 9 teams that are anywhere from elite to pretty good and then a bunch of shite.

Texas A&M just blew them out in that arena 79 to 63. Maybe that eases some of your concerns.

I know man I know. We are the better team. They are pretty good but have massive flaws that we are primed to exploit. We have been spectacular in our 3 toughest road games this year. Average teams have come in and given them hell and Texas A&M kicked their arse

But I just loathe watching us play there. When we're a mere bubble team, their super bowl is still when Bama comes to town

Speaking of TAMU, auburn plays them at their place this week, so a good chance Auburn comes into our game having lost 3 of their last 4.

I am sure they will be hungry, Bruce always is, and we'll get their A game. Truth is we have a lot more talent than they do.

Alabama has 5 players that were top 40 recruits on 247 coming out of high school

Brandon miller #14th ranked recruit
Jaden Bradley #26
Jahvon Quinerly #29
Nimari Burnett #34
Charles Bediako #35

Auburn has 2 players that were top 40 on 247

Yohan Traore #24 - averages 3 points a game
Chance Westry #40 - averages less than 3 points a game and is hurt.

Green and Broome are solid players but I don't think they'll be enough.

Definitely not liking the current bracket projections showing us #1 in MW with Kansas as the 2 seed. Playing Kansas in Kansas City with a Final 4 on the line sounds….stressful.
