I know it's a young team and Gurley is old, but I'd rather give his minutes to others. He doesn't shoot well. He not a good defender. He's a step slow. He's not very athletic. And he turns it over a lot.

I would really love to know the behind the scenes details of last year's team. Everyone openly acknowledges what the issues were, but I'm interested in knowing what, or who, the cause of those issues was.

Especially true with a 3-point shooter.....it's just got to be round.

I about stroked out last night in the 2nd half. He jacked up a 3 from the top of the key missing all of the rim. Then he called for the ball again from the same damn spot after the o-rebound 3 seconds later. He made the 2nd one, but not without me yelling “WTF are you doing?!?” at the TV.

I think it was a lot more then just Shack. We had a ton of really bad defenders, especially in the backcourt. They looked like sloths trying to stay in front of their man.

This was the downfall of the team - guards couldn't stop dribble penetration and bigs had to constantly help, leading to easy dishes and backside rebounds. Last night I lost count of how many times their guards got stuck in the lane with nowhere to go, all because we didn't have to double them.

The bad defense and poor overall shooting were the two biggest on-court issues, but I'm talking about the team chemistry, refusal to take coaching, and selfishness stuff that has been referenced for months now.

Since 2010-2011 only one team has ever had two 60 plus rebound games in a season, 2016 Iowa State, Alabama has 2 in the first 3 games.

We have also surpassed last season's total number of opponents held under 60 points.

Several options from last year's roster:

Holt
Davison
Gary
Shack
Ellis
Hylton
Rojas
Tchikou

Doesn't matter now. We're in a much better spot this year. Going to be interesting how the minutes get worked out this year, and we haven't even seen Welch really. Nice problem to have.

Went to the Aub game last night. Free club tix with a friend. Them reporting 100% attendance is hilarious. It was maybe 65% full. Wonder why they do that?

They are good. Lots of size/depth.

Gotta disagree with you here Joka. A true shooter doesn't need a friendly rim. Case in point - Miller 4-9, 44% from 3. Sears 2-4 50%. The outlier is Griffen who I believe is a good shooter going 0-4.

You'd have a winning point if not for Miller's two point attempts and FTs.

USA should be embarrased at the quality of those goals. Even their team was horrid, and Riley had said this was his best shooting team. There were plenty of open looks for them to hit - it wasn't just Bama's length.

From a purely entertainment standpoint, which is what sports are to fans, you should be creating an environment for the players to succeed. Too many of these arenas use these baskets that either don't get used enough to break the rims in, or are just flat out too tight. You wouldn't want to watch golfers play with wooden sticks or a Qb throwing a nerf ball. No one should want to watch good players constantly missing shots that would otherwise go in if played at a different gym.

No one from last year's team. We definitely needed an upgrade and got it.

It’s cool. We’re one of those long and athletic teams that is an absolute pain in the arse to shoot in close
