A other setback for the ladies…

Alabama’s JaMya Mingo-Young to Remain Sidelined for the 2023 Season

The Crimson Tide guard, who has not seen action since Dec. 29, has been medically disqualified

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Due to numerous lower extremity orthopedic injuries and subsequent rehabilitations, Dr. Lyle Cain and Dr. Norman Waldrop at Andrews Sports Medicine/St. Vincent's Hospital have made the decision to medically disqualify Alabama women's basketball guard JaMya Mingo-Young from further basketball activities for the remainder of the 2023 season.

A graduate student, Mingo-Young will continue to receive treatment and rehab under the supervision of the University of Alabama sports medicine staff for the remainder of the semester.

"I am grateful for the University of Alabama for coming to this decision," Mingo-Young said. "I am thankful for the support of the coaching staff, University physicians and athletic training staff. I look forward to supporting my teammates for the remainder of the season, while spending the adequate time I need to get fully healthy."

How do ya'll see the big/12 SEC challenge going? I included every team's ranking according to KenPom.

Here's my guess

4 Alabama at 38 Oklahoma W

22 Arkansas at 15 Baylor L

13 Iowa State at 55 Missouri L

24 Auburn at 21 West Virginia W

41 Florida at 26 Kansas State L

10 Kansas at 30 Kentucky W

70 Texas Tech at 121 LSU L

95 Ole Miss at 38 Oklahoma State L

14 TCU at 51 Mississippi State L

9 Texas at 2 Tennessee W

________________________________

I've got us going 4 and 6

Auburn could easily lose at WV though, they haven't been very good on the road.

Winners:
Bama
Arkansas
Kentucky
Auburn
Missouri

Losers:
Tennessee
LSU
Ole Miss
Florida
MSU

I think 5-5…I’m not sold on the Big 12 hype just yet, but there are some SEC teams that just don’t matchup well

The SEC team will probably only be favored in two of the games. Alabama @Oklahoma and Texas @Tennessee

But Joka, are you not a little worried about our game being on the road? I know Oklahoma record isn’t good but They play in the BIG12!! They are better than their record indicates. Safe to say I’m a little #nervous

I think the game yesterday open our eyes a whole lot honestly so they'll be ready but Oklahoma bigs will bang for sure.

Oklahoma has played 3 SEC teams already this year, they beat ole miss by 4, beat Florida by 9, and lost to Arkansas by 10.

I would much rather win the regular season than the tournament. Regular season clearly shows which team was the best in the conference over the grind of a long season.
Winning the tournament usually does point to which team is peaking at the right time and has gained valuable tournament format experience for the NCAA’s.
But if a team has had to fight really hard to win the tournament it runs the risk of being tired & weary or even injured come March Madness.

I know Waldrop. He did my surgery in November on my ankle. He also travels with the football team to games. If he's telling her no more, she should trust him. Hes a good dude, and a good foot/ankle doc.

Ladies hit a clutch 3 with 8 seconds left to take the lead!!

This would be a big win for them. Curry has definitely turned the corner these last 3 seasons
