Agree. And just look at how many fans would not get in the game on weekends with a small gym. They should just give most of the unsold tickets to students right around tip off.
38,000 students on campus. Just use them if tickets are not sold.

Why are we seemingly underreporting this year? Find me 3500 empty seats

My guess is these FOGS some of you guys complain about probably make large donations and then get so many tickets with that.

They do that. There were plenty of students last night around us that had been given unused seat tickets for entry.

Yea that seems like a wild number. There were certainly pockets of singles and doubles that were open, but for the most part the place was packed and it was loud.

I struggle to see 3,500 empty seats. I do appreciate counting actual tickets used, but I don't get this one.

Last years team was not a cohesive unit. That team had potential but it never materialize. If JQ does not get hurt in the beginning of the tournament game, I think we win that game. That team missed JQ.

The fact that he's not an explosive leaper really puts a lid on how much he will ever be able to do in terms of scoring. He has to gather himself to get up off the ground.

Do students get in free with a ticket?

I dunno, JQ was pretty bad last year. It's possible we beat Notre Dame, but just as possible the game plays out the exact same way. We'd been awful the last 2 weeks of the season.

Barely beat State at home, gave up 90 to UK in a loss, barely beat Vandy at home, got hammered by A&M at home, lost @ LSU, lost to Vandy in the tournament.

I assume it's the same as it was 15-20 years ago when I was there - they just scan your ACT card (or whatever fancy thing it is now) at the student gate and you get in for free.

Whatever method they’re using isn’t right. I think they reported in the 12000s for LSU and Kentucky. I was at both and that seems waaaaay off

So wouldn't it be fair to say the team was bad instead of how bad JQ was.

so with the students it is first come first serve and they have so many allocated for students only

I think JQ was individually pretty bad last season. He looked like he felt like he needed to win games on his own and it led to some bad shot selection and clear pressing in his own mind.

He is offensive rating vs Top 50 teams last year was 94.8, which was dead last of guys who actually played minutes. Worse than JD Davison (98.1).

Correct, which is why there are long lines and the section is always packed so early when they open the doors.

Yes. The gates open 1.5 hours before tip and it’s first come first serve. Since last night wasn’t a sellout, once the student capacity had been reached they gave out unused tickets.

The pressure of being on a bad team can lead to a player trying to do too much but I get your point.
