I'm expecting a low scoring, defensive slugfest. I know the main concern is their physical defense against our offense, especially on the boards, but Houston has had a few bad shooting nights themselves so far this year. As long as our defense brings it, we should be right there in the end, which is all you can ask for when going on the road against #1.

They had two players that played incredibly well against us.
We need Burnett to start making some shots, though.

Houston is going to take away our 3-point shot with their length and athleticism, just like UConn did. So our ability to stay in the game (and win) depends on a few things:
- Rebounding. They absolutely crushed us on the offensive glass last year. We are a much better rebounding team this season, and we'll need the guards to be especially aggressive on the boards and Clowney to continue to be a dawg. Last year Gary led us in scoring against Houston because he was willing to crash and get putbacks and contact.
- Turnovers. We kept them to a minimum last year against Houston, but this has killed us so far this season. Simply can't give them 21 free possessions like we did against UConn.
- Finishing at the rim. This is what concerns me the most. We won last year's game because of 2PT FGs (and FTs), mostly because JQ had his way getting to the rim and Gary got a bunch of putbacks. This season the offense runs through JQ and Miller, and they've both been appallingly bad from inside the arc (both right at 34% 2PT FG %). That dog won't hunt Saturday.

I think it's only a matter of time before JQ starts to click because he's a lot better at finishing.
I think the X-Factor could be Dom Welch if he's healthy enough to play.

Arkansas forward Trevon Brazile will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn ACL in last night's game against UNC Greensboro.

Yea it looked bad at the time. He couldn't put any weight on it getting off the court. Hate that for him.

Sucks for Brazile, guy was having a breakout year.
Totally forgot about Llewellyn. He was a having a pretty ugly year (in line with what I think a lot of folks feared he might look like at a high level). 31% from the field, 19% from 3PT.

They no shite said on the broadcast that a coach informed them it wasn't a long term injury, wishful thinking maybe.
That sucks, he was playing really well this season, had the dunk if the year so far imo.

Why I didn't really care what was said on TV till he actually got looked at, even Muss said as much in last night's presser

They have the depth to overcome it, but on a personal level that really sucks for him. He was having a solid season and had started to show up on some mock draft lists.

It sucks for both players but hopefully they can have a Jahvon Quinerly type recovery.
I hate hearing about season/career ending injuries.

I know basketball is a non contact sport, but compared to football, there are way less injuries.
Sort of surprising to me, especially when you do see plenty of knee injuries in football that are non contact in nature

Good road win by MSU at Penn St. They only had a 30% chance of winning according to ESPN but held on at the end.
Here’s hoping we can outperform our ESPN win % on Sat!!

There's no cleats in basketball. And baseball players don't juke.
