Not often that there are 5 SEC teams in the top 20 with Kentucky the lowest among them.

nah, his per 40 and per 100 are about as solid as one could hope for from a backup

I mean, I guess, if all you're looking at is basic stats. His BPM is just about the worst on the team, barring walkons. I think he's ahead of JQ, who will jump ahead as he works his way back, and I think he's ahead of Pringle, who has barely played.

I decided to just suck it up and live with the fact that he's going to get minutes, so I'm trying not to complain about him this year. I am happy that he is at least hitting some open shots lately. I don't question his effort, just his ability.

Talking to a UNC fan at work this morning… He kinda cracked me up. “I wish we ran more half court plays like Alabama”. I almost did a double take and asked if he’s watched any of our games.

Just goes to show it’s all about perspective.

He does come off the bench
Oh, well keep him there!

jk.

And I know y’all are right about the positives he brings. But if he can’t help himself from taking over and attempting 18 doomed layups per game and shooting poorly from 3, then I think he’s a liability.

He needs to be passing more, shooting 8-12 times per game, and probably turning it over less.

From what I’ve seen of him the last few years, he is incapable of being a ball hog during stretches that kill the team. Seems like he’d be WILDLY valuable to the team if he simply stopped that shite but he can’t.

According to our records, North Carolina's drop from 1 to 18 is the largest one-week fall from the top spot in the history of the AP poll. The previous biggest fall was from 1 to 15 (Florida, Dec. 9 to Dec. 15, 2003).

He wasn’t the only one missing layups these past few games. There were a ton by Miller/Bediako/Clowney too

I didn’t hate his shot to win in the 1st OT. It was about a 8 footer, decent look with a hand in his face.

His shot to win the 2OT was the one that was blocked. I didn’t like his matchup with the much bigger defender there. Thought they at least should have ran a screen to a shorter defender to see if he could get a switch. Or have Miller get the last shot.

It does seem like Oats loves the 1v1 to win the game. It’s a safe play considering we usually turn it over if we make more than 2-3 passes.

I hope the Chuck we saw last night is the Chuck we see more and more of this season. He seems like a really good dude, but we need him to be a mean spirited a-hole.

a plus 4.7 is hardly something to worry about. if anything thats a testament to how much depth we have. 42 minutes against nc and ended with a 9.2, third highest behind sears and chuck. the only game where you could somewhat conclude he sucked was against jacksonville st. i say somewhat because while the plus/minus thing isnt nothing, it is still highly subjective in general, esp for lesser minute guys as it holds no account towards the rhythm of the game or your teammates. some games like jq's and brandons performance against uconn for example then yea, much more obvious.

What if Miller, Clowney, Rylan, Bradley, and Bediako all make significant strides throughout the year?

Clowney had 3 rebs 1 block and a point in 3 minutes vs UNC before he got hurt. We missed him bad the rest of the way.

Bediako stepped up huge, if we can get that Bediako regularly and Clowney back healthy thats a hell of a combination down low.

I’m still mad at Nate for not getting the ball to Sears more in the OTs.

He airballed 2 shots in a row, a 3 pointer and a floater in the lane. I think his legs were gone.

Bingo!
You could tell that a number of guys on both teams were worn out by the way their shots were going up. Tired legs will kill a shot.

JQ usually makes his layups if he has space to get them off because he's very creative and his left hand is just as good as his right. JQ just has to learn his new teammates because he hasn't had a whole lot of time with them.

Nate Oats system is a NBA style offense so in the half court offense shoot you might see some one on one stuff and if we are being honest this is what get the recruits attention.

They just got to gel and know where to go with the ball.

Speaking of Clowney, has anyone seen any updates on how serious his injury is or how long he may be out/limited?
