In reference to the douche canoe known as joe goodman, all he is doing is trying to continue to stir it up and rehash it to try and keep it in the news...that's his only goal..simply trying to drag down Miller, Oats, the team, and the University..he will have articles next year about it....he's a worthless piece of afterbirth

LINK ]Bfrandon Miller makes first public comments since being named in Miles case (BOL)
quote:
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – For the first time since he was publicly named in the capital murder trial involving former Alabama teammate Darius Miles and Miles’ friend, Michael Davis, star forward Brandon Miller fielded questions from reporters about the night of Jamea Harris’ death.
Miller, who is a cooperating witness and not a suspect in the case, was made available to local reporters prior to the Crimson Tide’s trip to Nashville, Tenn., for the 2023 SEC Tournament.
“I never lose sight of the fact that a family has lost one of their loved ones that night,” Miller said Wednesday. “This whole situation is just really heartbreaking. Respectfully, that’s all I’m going to be able to say on that.”
The weapon used to shoot and kill Harris, which belonged to Miles, was retrieved from Miller’s car by Miles, who then gave it to Davis. According to police testimony, Davis then shot Harris, a 23-year-old mother from Birmingham, Ala., in the early morning hours of Sunday, Jan. 15.
Miller’s attorney maintained his client “never touched the gun, was not involved in its exchange to Mr. Davis in any way, and never knew that illegal activity involving the gun would occur.”
Miller has remained an active member of the Alabama men’s basketball program since he was linked to the incident on Feb. 21. The Crimson Tide has played in four games since then, with a pair being on the road, and Miller has heard plenty of unwelcome chants from opponents’ fans, including “lock him up,” but he said he has leaned on his UA teammates through that.
He provided a similar response when asked about criticism over his playing in games and not being punished, stating, “I just lean on my teammates, and we just go places to get wins.”
On the court, Miller has been one of the best players in the country this year, earning individual accolades such as SEC Player and Freshman of the Year from the league coaches and AP and first-team All-American recognition from Sporting News. The freshman is averaging 19.6 points per game this season, and that average spiked to 25.25 ppg over the last four games.
Head coach Nate Oats was asked how Miller has handled himself the last two weeks.
“He’s taken this whole situation very seriously from Day 1,” Oats said Wednesday. “It’s a tough situation for all of us, and it’s just sad, to be honest with you. But I never thought Brandon was flippant with any of it, ever. As far as off the court goes, not necessarily huge changes, but I didn’t think there needed to be any big changes. He’s a great kid.
“We’re all going through a tough situation together, and we’re just trying to lean on each other to get through this.”

Both weaker seeds were favored in each game and they both won.

ESPN just dropped a long form article on the shooting. Really not a ton of new info as far as I can tell other than some new info on the timeline leading up to the event.

I always figured there was some form of trouble that started in the bar but nothing really suggests that. Shocking that the short argument outside is enough for Miles to decide “I need my gun”

If the barn loses to Arkansas today do they still make it to the tournament ? I have Arkansas winning the game.

If they lost, they could move down to a #10 seed but I believe they are in now without doing anything further.

I wonder if Quinerly will get the start tomorrow. He's been looking closer to his old self lately and having a senior point guard with the experience that he has will be big.

Miss. St. probably wouldn’t feel too comfortable with a loss today

Here is a comparison of the Top 25 plus SEC. It looks like the Mountain West took over the old Missouri Valley mantle for manipulating RPI the best.
And Vandy and State might be swapped in terms of bubble status if it was 2007.

West Virginia is only a 4-point underdog against Kansas at a neutral court. They have no business being a 9-seed
