Dude shut up!
This had nothing to do with Wrightsell smfh!

Phenomenal season for our guys and I hope and pray Nelson, Sears, Rylan, Nick, and Wrightsell all come back for next season.

That game should've pissed them off more than anything.

Sears is simply a fantastic basketball player and competitor. If he comes back we’ll have a great chance at a FF run. If he doesn’t I don’t expect to make it.

You should never "expect" to make a F4.

point being, we are going to have to pay Sears. Obviously he wants be here, but it's going to be a bidding contest even if he isn't involved he is going to be getting it offers from other blue bloods

Any chance Sears played himself into a late 1st round pick with his tournament performance?

Sears’s biggest question mark is defense. He definitely played better in the tourney but I think he’s likely an early second round at best. I hate even typing that because the love I have for that guy but if he was more disruptive with steals he would be easily a first rounder.

I’m fine with losing Estrada, Wague, Cosby, Parker and possibly Pringle and dioubate. We need a true 5 and we need more length and coordination on the wings. I want Sears to stay but I think he’s suited as a two guard. I want a Collin sexton type point guard and that will free Sears up to be more of a spot up shooter.

Yep. There’s no guarantee we ever make it back as good as Oats is. I mean think about it, if we are the four in UConn’s region, we go home in the Sweet 16 again. You just never know with the tournament.

UConn is a machine. Played a great game and went cold from deep in the 2nd half. I think Nate coached a great game overall, but the unnecessary Mo Dioubate minutes will haunt me for a little bit. Love his potential and have preferred him over Stevenson for much of the year, but I didn't think this was the game to play him. That last 8-0 run where he was rough on both ends is what put this one away.

Having said all that, I will never forget that feeling of finally making the Final Four. Euphoria. All the staff and roster turnover and this is the year we make it; a rebuilding year.

Have a feeling Nelson and Sears are going to capitalize off this momentum and can't blame them. Would love to see them come back for a title run though.

Sounds like Nelson may be back?

quote:

Grant Nelson: "We all loved each other. It was tough seeing guys like Aaron Estrada play their last college basketball game. We just told each other we made history. It didn't end the way we wanted to. But we can't hang our heads on this season and we got to use this game as motivation going into next year."

I feel one of the two will be back. We will see though and I hope we get both back.

I’ve always been a fan of Stevenson. I know he’s had some rough minutes, but he’s supposed to be a senior playing a stretch 4/5 in college against elite comp in the tourney. He has a bright future for us.

I wouldn’t put stock in anything that’s said tonight. These kids will have a lot of voices in their ears in the coming days and weeks

Man if we really do bring all the key contributors back and add in a rim protector in Sherrell, we may be cooking.

Wrightsell is a great player and one of the key players this season, but I didn't want him to play too much today. In the end, this ended up being the same plan we had during the regular season. When Wrightsell wasn't in the tournament, the basketball we played was completely gone and the variables were completely gone. The possessions and roles of Pringle, Griffen, and Stevenson had to be greatly reduced

What? I don't think you understand how good that UConn team is. We went cold from deep in the 2nd half, but even taking that into account, that was our best performance of the NCAAT. UConn is just THAT good. It was always going to take our best performance of the year and a better whistle than we got.
