Why does the women's basketball team get no love on this rant.

Because the women's basketball team has historically been the worst team sport, women's or men's, that the University has ever sponsored.
But, it is nice to see them at least not finish in dead last in the conference.

When you go to Coleman and see the women's team made a final four once, it really made you think...how?!

That team made a fantastic run of a few wins at the right time.
Honestly, to me, it just shows how one "Final Four" may not really be all that impressive in the grand scheme of things.
No doubt one is better than none, but unless you win it all , or at least put together a decent string of Final Fours, getting there just once, and especially being 30 years ago, doesn't help your team all that much. IMO.

A Final Four is special though. Betsy Harris is from my hometown. She’s back there now coaching at the local junior college.

well 7 chances to increase the 6 point lead, didn't make one. Missed the last 12 3's. Can't win doing that.

We look tired, Sears especially.

Still very optimistic moving forward but tomorrow is going to be tough.

Atmosphere was amazing though. I'm still tired.

I said it during the game that Bama had some chances to pull away and just couldn't make shots. Wrightsell being out has put a lot on the other guards.

Mark Sears minutes in the last 4 games - 39, 40, 36, 43.

He's averaging 39.5 minutes per game over the last 2 weeks.

Aaron Estrada in the last 4 games - 35, 38, 37, 41. He's averaging 38 minutes a game.

These guys need some rest. An early exit from the SECT wouldn't be a bad thing.

Sears's playing time is quite long even if Wrightsell is not sidelined. In particular, out of the four games that Wrightsell missed, three were against AP Top 25 teams.

vs Auburn 38m
vs Georgia 37m
vs Auburn 37m
vs Ohio State 36m
vs Arizona 36m
vs South Carolina 36m
vs LSU 36m
vs Purdue 35m
vs Creighton 35m

In fact, the player whose playing time increased due to Wrightsell's absence is Estrada.

vs Creighton 36m
vs Georgia 36m
vs Ohio State 33m
vs Oregon 33m
vs Missouri 33m

Before this last stretch Sears had only played back to back games of 35+ minutes once. When that happened we had the next game off, so he had time to recover.

It's the cumulative effect that's an issue.

Those in attendance Saturday night may have seen the emergency vehicles arriving at Coleman pregame and police blocking off a section of the concourse. Looks like this was the issue :

Alabama women's basketball forward Essence Cody has been named the SEC Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season, the Southeastern Conference announced Monday.

Cody provided quality performances while Alabama finished the final week of the regular season 2-0 and helped Alabama secure the No. 4 seed and a double-bye in the 2024 SEC Women's Basketball Tournament.

Got to be honest, and it might be the chicken little in me but I prefer this bracket over us being the #1 seed

If Ala, Aub and SCar all finish 13-5 (Aub winning twice this week, SCar and Ala splitting, which are the most likely scenarios I think), Ala and Aub would get the #2/3 slots with the tiebreaker over SCar. Ala/Aub both lost to Ken so that tiebreaker would fall to Fla, which Ala would win (Ala will be 2-0 or 1-1 vs Aub's 0-1 vs the gators).

I wish they took strength of schedule into play. Aub played a much easier schedule than Bama. They got Vandy, UGA and Mizzou twice while we only got each one once. We also got Florida twice

Supposedly had a setback and the clock reset to zero on it. Must be a pretty bad concussion. Something tells me we won't see him before the NCAAt.
