There was little difference in offense and defense from the opposing team today.
The reason for the loss was that in the second half we had more turnovers and at key moments the opposing team scored and our team did not score.

Still too sooon for me but here are the press conference postings if anyone is interested. It’s probably been said but Coleman was amazing last night. Packed, loud and decked in white. Could have been a storybook ending but alas…. I think I heard 2 of 13 shooting down the stretch on the post game they play overhead in the coliseum. On to Florida.

Since Wrightsell went out here are Sears’ minutes
42, 36, 40, 39
And his game involves a lot of physical drives to the basket.
He is getting worn down.
Didn’t look up Estrada but he is playing too many minutes too.
Unfortunately we may be coming into postseason play with our two main guards running on fumes.

With Wrightsell unable to play, we played three of our four games against AP Top 25 teams. Sears played for a long time against AP Top 25 teams even when Wrightsell was there, so there is not much of a difference in playing time.
Estrada also played for a long time against strong teams. However, it is true that Estrada’s playing time has increased slightly.
Eventually, a situation will come where physical strength may become a problem. I think it would be good to actively utilize Wrightsell and Cosby in the remaining two games.

When I heard Wrightsell was out with a head injury, I assumed concussion. He must've gotten punched in the head by superman for as long as he's been out.

Tonight, Sam Walters was better that's all I'm saying.
Sam really has gotten better, as have Mo D and Cosby. I never would have expected those three to play and contribute as much as they have. Big upside for those three - as well as Stevenson, but I thought he would play more.

All of the freshmen have potential and I love their upside. Hopefully we can keep them out of the portal

The entire offense is attack the rim and shoot 3s. No midrange shots whatsoever. If that's going to be your system, you'd better shoot better than 24.3% from three.
You also can't turn the ball over like we did. When we had the 6 point lead in the second half, we had four straight possessions where we turned the ball over on three of them.
edit:
apparently someone here thinks you can design an offense to get a specific type of shot, have those shots be 60% of all your shots...then only hit 24.3% of those and still win basketball games.
Alabama designs their offense to get a specific type of shot, yet last night were horrendous at hitting those shots. If you can't grasp that, you don't do basketball very well.

Had opportunities to win last night but,at the end of the day, Tennessee is just a better team. No shame in admitting that, just tip your hat and move on.
Oats has done a terrific job with this bunch this year. You aren’t going to win the conference every year. We’ve beat who we were supposed to beat, but this team has a ceiling and some teams, like Tennessee, we match up terribly with.
Hopefully we get these last two, secure a top 4 seed in the big dance. We get hot, a couple of upsets and the bracket breaks right and who knows. UConn and Houston are the one seeds I think we need to stay away from.

Bro…..we have the 2nd best offense in the KenPom era(since 1999) and you are questioning Oats philosophy on offense after 1 bad game??

Pringle with a layup and 7-8 from the FT line (heroic shades of one handed Herb Jones vs UT), was the only players past the 13:42 mark who exceeded expectations. Sears had two layups and 2 FTs.
But it was a team offensive collapse or tremendous performance by the Vols D that turned the game. Sixteen points in the last 13:42 has to be the worst performance since who, SDSU in the round of 16?

1 bad game you say? You forget some of the losses earlier in the season. I am not questioning his style of play but you are disingenuous if you say one bad game.

Moving on to Florida.
We got to get a win plain and simple.

Just out of curiosity here... I have been a big Alabama fan since 1965 and enjoy all of Alabama sports. Why does the women's basketball team get no love on this rant. They have excelled and typically are only a blurb in the men's basketball posts (thanks in kind to Alabama Fan-which I truly appreciate). And, great down the stretch win at Texas A&M for the girls today.. another road win!! Roll Tide

Certainly can’t speak for the board.. but personally, I hope they win.. but at the end of the day I really don’t give a frick.
BTW.. I’ve been a Bama fan since 1971 at the age of 6.

Curry may be finally turning the corner with the WBB… she took over a dumpster fire and has gotten better each year for the most part

Andy Kennedy lost his mind in the UAB Memphis game. Pushed his own coach and several players.

I think we got a double bye in the SEC tournament. Hell of a job by Curry. 3 NCAA tournaments in 4 years
