Kane is doing a hell of a job. I was wrong about him. First time giving up less than 300 YPG since 2017

Same here... I was very hard on him and I was wrong. Sometimes, I don't mind eating crow or being wrong.

Amazing what having more good players will do. Jefferson, Hill-Green, Lee, Morgan, and Pierre all came on very strong the second half of the season and have started to take some of the bend from the bend don't break philosophy. To the point that I think the offense needs to play with more tempo. The defense doesn't need to be protected as much as it did 6 weeks ago.

Didn’t we play without Dashawn Jones on Saturday ? Would love to have him and Russaw back for Auburn.

Ditto - started off thinking he was gonna be a weakness in this coaching staff, but it’s turned out to be the opposite of that. The most impressive thing so far is the development of the younger guys coming on.

He’s improved over the season. Wish I could say the same about the offense. It’s quickly turning to garbage.

The issues on offense are what CKD has never had to face. There are alot of high end D minds in this league. Each DC finds a kernel he can exploit. A week or two later another DC expands on that kernel. By weeks 10, OU used several of those softspots to put the O under pressure. The O did pretty well but the pressure resulted in several plays that put Bama in a bind. Being one dimensional focuses all of the pressure on one person. If your only solution is QB centric and all the pressure is focused on disrupting the QB, something is going to faulter at least a few times.

The QB centric O concept is something we used to talk about as a limiting factor that Alabama would take advantage of in big games. (think Miami Sugar Bowl) The Bama old school coaches never wanted to be QB centric. Now Alabama is QB centric and does not have the counter punch needed to break the D pressure focus.

The defense is pretty good but they still lose gap control and take bad angles to the tackle.
They also had several mistakes in the secondary Saturday which oklahomo’s QB couldn’t take advantage.
The LBer’s have rocks for hands. CJ Mosely would have had 6 on the ill advised throw by Mateer in the 2nd Q.

What I think helps is Kane and KDB play a lot of guys, which gives them in game experience and pays off down the line. CNS, on the other hand, always seemed to go with seniority (unless it was obvious, ie Minkah) and not much pt for younger guys.

Kane has done a bangup job of adapting. He started off very shaky but now has adapted to the SEC and is doing one helluva job. I was on the fire Wommach train but now he's the main I would want to retain of all the assistant coaches. He's turning into a good one.

Wommack has done a good job. The run defense has been shaky at times and Bama fans weren't used to that under Saban. Kane kinda got taken to task for it because he isn't Saban, Pruitt, or Kirby.

He is bringing along so many young players playing important minutes. Hope Bama can retain all these guys.

11,17,24,8,41,42,94,90,16 just to name a few are making great progress.
