Yeah, but it is known that he does not like to recruit.
Assuming Sark doesn't completely gut our offensive staff on his way out the door, which is a pretty bold assumption, having a fantastic playcaller who doesn't like to recruit would be fine. Regardless, Brady isn't leaving the NFL.

I think Nick might make another run at Clements. He’s on the Cardinals staff right now.
An intriguing hire if he could pull it off would be Kent State’s head coach, Sean Lewis.

Kiffin had great results, but he did do a lot of gimmicky stuff, and he would always feature a player to an unbalanced degree.
This pro offense under Sark has been a thing of beauty.
Spot on.
Kiffin is a savant. He's got an amazing ability to identify in-game mismatches and draw up calls to exploit them but it's very haphazard with great variability one game or even series to the next. The result is you're going to have uneven performances where you go 3-and-out, 3-and-out, 80 yard TD, 3-and-out, 3-and-out, 60 yard TD. Maddening as hell.
Under Sark, it's a system where the parts all work in harmony and doesn't rely on those mismatches.

Possibility if Mac Doesn't go pro.
Is that even a possibility?

How funny would it be to hire Herman ?
that would actually be a good choice. There may be a clause that he won't get his buyout if he takes another job.

There’s no reason for Mac not to go. Very unlikely his stock can be higher then it is right now.

Mac is gone. he is not coming back. He has two degrees. First round Pick. the idea of working for different OC? Nah. He's gone. He's been gone. Jan 11th will be his last game in Alabama uniform.

Tom Herman ??????????????????
Posted on 1/2/21 at 11:32 am to Panthers4life
More likely a 2nd round pick, but yeah, he's definitely gone. He can't raise his stock any higher by returning and he has his degree and all that.
Bryce Young is as close to guaranteed the starting QB position with the nation's premier program next season as it gets. He'd be nuts to leave unless Saban went out and hired a wishbone running OC.

Tom Herman ??
I'm thinking this would be best case scenario, ironically.

Herman and Kiffin basically had a summit and created the first version of our modern offense.

Joe Brady is the answer. That LSU offense last year was a thing of beauty, especially considering the mess it was prior to his arrival.
Joe Brady is the best in the biz
Of course he would be hired away after 1-2 seasons, but thats with anyone at this point

Joe Brady is a NFL OC who is going to interview for NFL HC jobs
He's not coming to be a college OC

-Spend the last 15 minutes on the phone with sources and here are a few general thoughts I've gathered:
-Nobody expects his move to Texas to affect the national championship game. He's a pro. And in fact I was told, after the fact, that this had been in the works a few weeks and Sark had kept it quiet and he's done a fine job the last couple of weeks. I don't think a lot of people at UA knew about it either.
-The possibility of landing a bigger job (Texas) was the reason he turned down the Auburn (and other possible) interviews. Same source said he never was leaving UA except for a too good to pass up offer. Texas fits the bill. Also the NFL would have came calling after the season, too. It was a matter of when not if he would be moving on.
-Most of the class has signed. Sark didn't recruit a lot of kids. So we don't anticipate any major issues here.
-All the coaches who know Sark are happy for him. He's well liked by his peers. Opinions vary if Texas is a great fit. Time will tell but all agreed he deserved another chance.
-Think a big shout out for Sarkisian is deserved for the job he did. Lane and Locks brought it and Sark picked it up and did a great job.
-We will be working on an OC hot board. Gathering names now but there will be no shortage of candidates for this job. Very loaded offensive room.
