I got Mack. I think experience and time in the system gives him an edge and dude throws for 4800 yards. This season; not week 1.

Russell has incredible skills. He “appears” to have an upside that few who’ve ever entered Tuscaloosa have had. Not only does he have terrific physical tools but an innate feel for what to do. When and where to throw, whether to pass or tuck and run, etc. And appears to have the poise that comes with knowing you “have it” without being arrogant about it. He comes alive when the “lights come on”. If those things are true the only thing that can derail him, barring injury, is arrogance.
His teammates deeply believe in him. He engenders great confidence in the whole team.
Certainly the coaches know this and more. IMO, it would be a blow to the program if he’s not named. Mack is more than competent and would be successful and he and his whole family are a credit to the program and the University and I would surely pull for him, but Russell is the man.
One more scrimmage to navigate.

If DeBoer is going to be a coach that goes down on the good side of Alabama football history, I think the model is most similar to what Clemson did in the 2010s.
Clemson never had a top offensive line but they always played a pocket passer with dual threat capabilities. The WR room always had a mix of archetypical X, Z, and slot body types. The tailbacks almost never rushed for 1500+ but they were good enough to stay on schedule against teams playing the pass.

I'm taking Mack Attack to start the season. That was my prediction before the reports started coming out yesterday predicting Russell.

It’s been said but bears repeating, we either play KR this year or play against him next year. I hate that’s the way college football is now, but that’s the way college football is now.

I think Mack starts game 1 just because of the "loyalty" thing and KR also plays some that game. But I believe Keelon starts and plays the bulk of reps at least by the FSU game.

They share reps in game 1. Mack gets the start. KR starts the rest of the way.
