Apparently there has been a significant shooting event in the Gallera near JCPenny. Multiple people are reported injured and the suspect has been reported as dead.

Some of the rumors are that the shooting stemmed from a fight involving teenagers.

Thankfully, as of now it does not appear to be a 'significant shooting event' except in that it happened at the mall. Hoover FD radio traffic (there is a link in the thread on tRant) reported one person with a GSW to the buttocks, two people with medical situations (one fall injury and one OB issue), and a shooter taking a dirt nap.

2 kids got in a fight One shot the other and as the shooter was fleeing he encounterd an officer and was shot and killed.

No idea how the 12yo was shot im guessing bad aim. Pray for her and the victim.

2 young adults who used to be in my youth group were 30 ft away from the two who started the whole thing.

One of whom already has a family history with gun violence. His mom had to watch 3 members of her immediate family get murdered in front of her. I hate it so much for them. A) that he had to go through this B) that she has to relive all of this through her son And C) she might not let him out of her sight for the rest of her days. She was already controlling before this happened.

Seeing lots of outrage on Facebook that the police shot the wrong guy. Other eyewitnesses saying they're full of it. Did your friends mention anything about the guy the police shot?

Well the guy they shot clearly had a gun, as there is a gun lying just a few feet from his body in the picture I saw.

Maybe it was the wrong guy, but whoever it was clearly had a gun.

Heard talk a few civilians had their guns drawn for protection, not sure if it stems from that.

That's anyone's right, but can also see how muddled it could make a situation like this.

The news just reported that ALEA has taken over the investigation from the Jefferson County Sheriff due to a "conflict of interest".

I wonder if the shooter was related to a deputy.

One of the witnesses interviewed is a cousin of the Hoover chief. Good move by them to get in front of that and hand this off. People love to hate on Hoover PD, but they were in damn fine form last night.

That's anyone's right,

Unfortunately, no it isn't. The Galleria is one of those utopia "gun free zones" where they paste a sticker on their door but provide no additional protection whatsoever.

News just said that the guy that was shot and killed was not the shooter...don’t know how he was involved just yet.
