I’d also like to note. It sucked last night but our guys never quit and fought their asses off. That tells me something.

I think we have missed on the evaluation of a few recruits but moreover I think Golding isn't prepared for this and the injuries that forced all these freshmen is obviously a factor.

Finally, I think the trend with the prolific offenses, due some to rule changes the last several years favoring the offense, is a major factor and the defenses are caught trying to catch up. I guess the average fan likes to see a lot of action and points. They're getting that.

and that's what I said. I'm glad the team didn't quit in the 2nd quarter the way so many "fans" did.

Yep, they never quit. Just couldn't overcome the 1st half mistakes.

This defense just isn't very good. An inexperienced DC and so many freshmen don't make for a championship caliber D.

We don’t have a “stud” on our DL this year. I think the future looks bright for Barmore but Davis has always underachieved in my eyes. I’m a broken record but sorry: losing Wilson and Thompson a year early was rough. Add in Moses, Ray and McMillon’s injuries and you see the results. Hopefully these guys finish strong and whip Auburn and maybe there’s some chance of redemption.

This, this, this.

There's not damn way a guy that big shouldn't be blowing up the OL on EVERY play.

I honestly can't figure out why Barrmore ever comes off the field.

Good points by you, BG and Josie. Sooner or later it also has to register with our disappointed fans that we’re playing 5 true freshman a lot.

5 true freshman vs prolific offense = lots of mistakes.

Last night was bad on so many levels in this thread. Trashing players , coaches, GOAT in their abilities , heart, etc was pretty embarrassing . Yeah we have deficiencies with youth and roster turnover to transfers and NFL departures . That’s ok . We recruit at an elite level and are not going anywhere . I have been going to games as a kid since late 70s. Have seen the good and bad. Maybe some will start to appreciate the run we have been on after a loss or two IDK. Keep your head up and act like a true fan

trashing the home team. There are plenty of examples, but it serves no purpose to post them.

I guess I just don't follow.
Starting a thread stating something like "Our defense is trash" right after they give up 45 points to the same team that only scored 23 to Auburn is just pointing out the obvious.
We can handle the truth when Alabama is winning, but can we not handle the truth when Bama is coming up short?
I'd hope so.

I think most understand that. I think what's especially frustrating, aside from the play of Davis, is the secondary. A veteran secondary, especially one with "alleged" draft prospects, should be playing much better and certainly shouldn't find themselves out of position or in busted coverages. That's all on coaching...whether it's coaching during the game, on the practice field, or recruiting evaluations.

And they damn sure shouldn't have their asses dragged seven yards down the field by the guy they're trying to tackle.

I think we have a pretty good shot of getting in. You can tell LSU fans are scared of this possibility.

After the last couple of years, someone has to prove to me that we're recruiting at an elite level in the secondary. If we are, there's no way Savion Smith ever sees the field, much less starts.

Is a pipe dream. I would certainly understand if Saban made a change after the season ends but we are probably not even talking about it if we didn't start the youngest defense in America.

Even though the defense just couldn't come through at the end when we needed, I'll agree with this.
That end of the half breakdown cost us so much. And the defense did play well in portions of the second half.
I watched some of the Arkansas game. Talk about players who have quit. They looked worse than a child who has just been told to clean up his room.

We have had quite a few injuries in the secondary. There are definitely holes there.

Honestly, not as much this year. Comparing to 2011, deep down I think they knew Alabama was just a little better, and they'd rather have played Oklahoma State.
This year, they simply outplayed Alabama, both in preparedness and talent. Further, there are a number of teams out there, other than Alabama, that will be a very difficult task for LSU.

The program has slowly started to slip. No longer are we head and shoulders the best in the country. This damning quote from last night shows that other people see it too:

"We know we're the better team," LSU linebacker Patrick Queen said. "We watched these guys on film. They're not the same like they used to be. … You look everywhere on the field, they're not the same team."

Yea I don't know why LSU would be scared of a rematch. I mean, they could lose, but that game wasn't some fluke.

For sure Different than 2011. We were the better team that night. We weren’t last night
