Well guess he would be stupid not to take it, if it is truly on the table.

Dallas' family isn't poor. A million won't impress him.

This is probably not true (because Rick isn't even reliable) but damn, if Turner got that bag, that's absolutely absurd

$1mil sounds low to be the star player on a Alabama defense to be honest. Our sport has descended into hell.

They've got to change the rules on this stuff.

Let's say a guy that really needs/wants the money is offered a large amount of money to transfer when there's still several games left in the season. His offer is contingent on him not getting hurt. Any idea how that would affect his play? They're always going to say there was no contact until the transfer window opened but I'm sure there is back channel communication to family during the season.
Just not a good situation.

This is why the NCAA needs to establish some absolutely devastating penalties for tampering. But they won't, because they're essentially a defunct organization as far as enforcement of rules goes.

Dallas is a fine player no doubt, but he didn't exactly knock it dead this year.

Honestly, Utah's AD corroborated rumors that our NIL collective offered a million to their TE, Dalton Kincaid, to transfer a year ago. I think these incentives to transfer are part of the game now.

The players, or their agents/agencies, as well as the party paying for the NIL should have to provide documentation/evidence that the player actually did something in exchange for the NIL deal. You paying 50,000 NIL deal to Dallas Turner? There better be proof that he starred in a commercial for you, promoted your business on his social media, made a personal appearance, etc. That would go a long way towards fixing some of this.

They're going to ruin the game if they haven't already.

It's a tough situation because I actually believe college students should have the freedom to earn money for their talent the same way other students can.

A lot of my friends feel the same way. I'm on the fence for now until I see if they make any significant changes. Even then, if you have rules but no enforcement, it doesn't mean anything. (See recent LSU, Arizona basketball situation)

I have no doubts that players from all over are getting offers and tampering by programs is widespread, but I wouldn’t take anything Rick Neiheisel says specifically as fact.

And play for Cristobal. Miami was a dumpster fire this season.

As one local Miami media person said after losing badly to Duke at home, "Mario Cristobal couldn't coach a dog to bark."

Besides the stupid penalties, he looked pretty damn good to me.

The biggest problem with people not liking NIL and the portal is people need to realize we live in a capitalist society. Once a person hits 18, they are an adult and free to make as much money as possible in exchange for their work. These kids are 18 and the NCAA for many decades hindered their ability to do this.
With the start up of football leagues outside the NFL with no restrictions, it placed fear in the NCAA to open up NIL and the portal or they faced possibly losing kids to other opportunities.

Bottom-line is universities are trying the best to keep the best opportunities with college football to make millions off these players. The NCAA is essentially trying to run a 'minor league' football league through universities. Therefore I am all for capitalism and free market place for these kids. However the process could be managed better. The universities are the ones getting scewed at this point because players can just sit out games for no reason.
