My neighbor Traci parrots similar stuff as you. From all manner of weird "news source" as well. I respectfully disagree. She's got a pretty good temperament so she doesn't get bent out of shape about it. Plus she's a huge football fan, which is how we originally bonded, so the conversation always turns back to that anyway. And she makes awesome biscotti. At 44, we're the same age almost to the day with her being born just 2 days after me. Crazy right?? Anyways, they took her off the ventilator yesterday. It's just a matter of time now. She'll leave behind a husband and 4 children. The oldest is 16, the youngest 7. I spoke briefly to her mom yesterday as she brought a bunch of Traci's personal effects back from the hospital. I'm thinking of sharing your posts with them in hopes they might offer solace in this difficult time. It's a numbers game after all. Should be easy for them to understand.

That is a tragic story. I was wondering, and I am sure many of my fellow Tide fans are too, if you could post her obit link so we could send flowers and kind messages to her family. Hearing of things like this merits he compassion of our community. Thanks in advance

So an unfortunate death from a vaccine not being used in the US and some random guy from Canada on Twitter.

Great addition to the conversation.

Great idea Pastor Mike.

We might even be able to set up some kind of GoFundMe for her kids.

ETA: Two down votes for suggesting we raise money for Traci's kids? You liberals are fricking disgusting.

Apparently you have been living under a rock.

Everyone should be free to choose what they feel is best for them & their family. The Vax passport bullshite needs to be stopped immediately.

President Biden told unvaccinated Americans this month: “We’ve been patient, but our patience is wearing thin. . . So, please, do the right thing.” He backed up this request with a series of new regulatory mandates, including one from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, which directs businesses with 100 or more employees to make vaccination a condition of employment.

The Democrats outrageous spending bill creates a $700,000 fine for businesses that violate Biden’s vaccine mandate. Outrageous.
quote:

President Joe Biden didn’t just announce a Covid-19 vaccine mandate on companies employing 100 or more people, he plans to enforce it.

On Saturday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s House quietly tucked an enforcement mechanism into their $3.5 trillion “reconciliation” bill, passed it out of the Budget Committee, and sent it to the House floor.

Buried on page 168 of the House Democrats’ 2,465-page mega bill is a tenfold increase in fines for employers that “willfully,” “repeatedly,” or even seriously violate a section of labor law that deals with hazards, death, or serious physical harm to their employees.

The increased fines on employers could run as high as $70,000 for serious infractions, and $700,000 for willful or repeated violations—almost three-quarters of a million dollars for each fine. If enacted into law, vax enforcement could bankrupt non-compliant companies even more quickly than the $14,000 OSHA fine anticipated under Biden’s announced mandate.

You certainly have the right to read the majority opinion in Jacobson v Massachusetts. I'm not telling you that you have to agree with it, but it has been case law for 115+ years. Ironically the majority opine is authored by a guy they called the great dissenter, and he was allegedly a pro civil rights advocate.

Jacobson was about a state’s right, not federal law. Furthermore, it was based on a law, not an executive order. D.Loesch

quote:

From Josh Blackman:

The law at issue in Jacobson did not impose a vaccine mandate. Rather, people who refused to receive the smallpox vaccine had to pay a $5 fine. (About $150 in present-day value). And the failure to pay the fine would result in a jail sentence. But the state lacked the power to jab a syringe in the offender's arm. The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court observed, "[i]f a person should deem it important that vaccination should not be performed in his case, and the authorities should think otherwise, it is not in their power to vaccinate him by force, and the worst that could happen to him under the statute would be the payment of the penalty of $5."
