So I was poking around the last few days, talked to a few players and what not. General consensus, Saban is like nothing anyone has seen. Extremely edgy and pissed. Players and coaches alike are treading lightly and getting their minds right. I mentioned to the one of the players that I had heard Saban was pissed he replied “oh I know, lol”.
I’ll be honest I think a doomsday machine is assembled and I can’t wait.

Yep. Lars Anderson tweeted something similar to this as well. I think Saban is ready to wreak havoc on the CFB world this season. Have a feeling this COULD (not saying it WILL) be our best season under Saban.

would be great to unlease the O... score like nothing ever before... and create a D that would be so devastating that the other team quits in the 1st half so the 2's and 3's could get all the 2nd half reps.. creating depth and a further devastating D...
"Make their Asses Quit"
(only caveat would be Bama remains #2 thru out the process until the CFB.. - no #1 has ever won the Playoffs)

Thanks for the info... can imagine that CNS wants that 7th NC and especially wants the 6th at Bama, with having blown so many chances (really, could have easily won all of the CFB's -except for this last one... but that is a matter of perspective too, IMHO)
He has to be looking at the time and effort left and having to replace the staff every year, and having the talent (players) to win; but maybe not the staff...
Sure hope the staff/players/support get it together; build on what has gone before and get this most deserving man a couple more Championships.
If a QB emerges from the backups this year, and there are some great WR's in 2020 class... the next few years could be beyond believe

Why am I not surprised? I don't think we will see relaxed coach this year.. He will rip everyone a new arse every chance he will get.

I bet he chews on the media more this year too

This is the Lars Anderson tweet
Saban might realize that he made some mistakes by "relaxing". This 4th quarter program and spring will be brutal
Please hold Tua out of the spring. He's too injury prone

Look at Alabama's roster next year. Loaded. Every skill position player on offense is back. And here's what I've picked up about Nick in the last few days -- he's PISSED. Been around him a lot and he's angry, has an edge to him. Never really seen him like this. Players know this.

I love the offseason positivity, but I think we all know that we will be really fricking good, lose a maximum of 2 games including postseason play, and basically take the air out of the ball as soon as we are up 4 or 5 TDs against 10-12 of our opponents while the backups are denied the opportunity to run the full offense/defense. Some years we win the last game of the season, and some years we don't. That's really the only thing that changes. I'm not complaining about that. I appreciate the fact that we are playing for a championship every single season. I'm just pointing out that Saban isn't suddenly going to get out of the don't embarrass the opponent mindset just because he's mad we got shitstomped for once. He isn't going to suddenly become Steve Spurrier mercilessly having the backup QB toss bombs up 49 with 5 minutes left in the game because frick them.

Balancing the use of emotion is the key.
I'm certain he is more focused as he was professionally embarrassed on the biggest stage, which was followed immediately by another staff exodus (some under conspicuous conditions) leading to more negative news.
He's a world class introvert known to have a generally business first and standards based approach to leadership, which automatically creates an overall dickish persona to the outsider looking in.
So, an emotional swing too far to the curmudgeon side of the room could produce an exponentially negative effect.
Pissed and focused because of it is good... toxic, win at all costs is less good for the organization

Nick said.....
"To me, we kind of have the Alabama factor around here that has always helped us be successful," Saban said. "That’s having a team that plays with a lot of discipline, that’s having a team that everybody sort of is responsible and accountable to do their job at a high level and a standard and everybody puts the team first, aight. So, that’s the standard. It’s up to the individual players to do that. And if I thought that we weren’t doing that in one game or 10 games, I would address it with the players and make sure that everybody was on board with those principles and values that’s helped us be successful.
"And I don’t think we played in that game with the Alabama factor. So, everybody needs to understand that and respond to it. If you lose your humility, it sort of creates, ‘I’m above doing things the way I need to do them to prepare for a game and go play in a game against good competition. And if I put my own agenda ahead of the team or winning, it’s going to have some effect on my performance.’ So, if I think those things are existing in the program, I think that they need to be addressed. And they have been.”
JMO but there are some players along with some coaches that Nick is more than glad are gone.

I think he may have been talking about Tua. He played a poor game twice down the stretch and defensive coordinators began using his arrogance to stymie him.

Sounds good, but the thing is we won't really even know until LSU/Auburn or even the SECCG.
I will tell you one thing - fvck pulling guys at halftime. This is the SEC.....if you can't stop us, that's your frickin problem. It that means we score 80 points, so frickin be it. I want our guys to be allowed to play with a "fvck you" attitude towards everyone we play, and that means they play at LEAST 3 full quarters with the pedal to the floor.

I agree with this and think Saban will have to just live with that happening to keep tProcess from becoming a bunch of hypocrisy with this kind of high powered offense. Because as it is now, you can't preach the "play the same no matter what the score is or how much time is left in the game" mentality when the players all know that the backups will be running a 5 play playbook for huge portions of most of our games. In years past we'd often go into halftime with like a 28-3 kind of lead, and the starters would still be running the full offense for all of the 3rd quarter and then come out after a series in the 4th when we had built up a 45-3 lead. Now, we are finding ourselves up 45-3 after one 2nd half possession. Running a conservative, clock killing, avoid scoring at all costs offense for two possessions is a lot different than doing it for 2 quarters. If you tell the players they need to play every snap like the game is tied then you can't coach an entire half like we are up by 60.

I want the backups to come in and run the same offense that the starters run. Brian Robinson got killed this year because they knew we were running every play

That game at A&M im early October will be tough.

Yeah, next year’s schedule isn’t the cake walk everybody makes it out to be. A&M will be dangerous, Auburn and LSU always are, and UT may be laying in the weeds for us.
But we better stomp a fvcking mudhole in South Carolina and walk it dry. I haven’t forgotten 2010.

That's the thing ,when you bring in backups Let Them Play or what is the point. You are not rubbing opponents faces in the dirt if you are running your normal offense with Backups. You are insulting the rival if you are deliberately running intramural plays and going through the motions of running an offense. And you are losing a great opportunity to test your secondary players in a live setting against genuine opposition.
What a waste of a priceless experience for the athletes. JMO.
Coach Saban knows all this I am sure but wont change because of the protocol he has practiced all,his career. Bear Bryant was the same way.
Funny thing is you don't see or expect this protocol in the NFL.

The thing with Coach Bryant is with the wishbone, you did run your normal offense no matter who was in the game because you were just running the ball all the time.
