Maybe DeBoer sucks. Maybe the players aren't nearly as talented as we think they are. Maybe it's both (I think it's both, but that's just my opinion). There's only one way to find out though and that's purging the roster of guys the previous staff evaluated. If we look like total shite in a handful of games again next year then by all means show his arse the door, but you have no idea if that's going to happen or not.

Nick quit because he couldn't handle the players that HE recruited. He kept his mouth closed because he wanted to help Kalen retain as much of the roster as possible. That all as very logical and I believe Byrne was a party to the plan as well. Problem is that roster needed to be blown up then but none of them wanted Kalen to start the show at 5-7. So, we have limped along with two pretty good years. Have to say their plan worked.
We shall see what 2026 brings The Tide. Hoping for a good year.

Tampering penalties are not enforced. I’m not even sure if they’re enforceable at this point.
I’m sure we’ve contacted players that aren’t in the portal as well — at the very least through back channels.

It’s honestly really interesting that Ha-Ha would say this publicly. I’m torn between appreciating the honesty and feeling maybe this is something you don’t say in case you want some of them back.

Yeah, probably not professional to air that, but maybe those guys just didn't give a shite and its good that they are leaving.
