My gut says Golding too, but I have to admit he hasn't been as bad as I thought he was last year and this year

Wouldn’t mind Frost being brought in as a special analyst to the OC.

It took Golding a qrt and a half to figure out how to stop one receiver. Yeah not impressed

I miss the days of adjustments - a few years ago our D would give up a first possession drive and then the DC made adjustments. Now, I keep hoping that BOB makes adjustments and he never seems too (not even at halftime)

Our coordinators are just stealing money with their paychecks.

Time for Frost to join Nick Saban’s “Center for Coaches Who Can’t Coach Good and Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too”
Welcome coach!
Welcome coach!

Saban doesn't seem to be lighting folks up anymore... And we're seeing more of this kind of performance... Coincidence?

Bob may be falling asleep up there. We never see him on camera like a lot guys in the booth.

The fact that he’s up in the booth really shows the problem. He’s out of touch. We are running a pre-2014 offense. Slow developing plays with no creativity or aggressiveness.
The whole point of bringing in Kiffin in 2014 was to modernize our offense. We’ve regressed.

Wonder how much longer Locksley will be at Maryland?

No pre snap movement to make defense make adjustments. No imagination on routes, no scheming to get receivers open, no adjustments when plays aren’t working!
It’s like Kiffin and Sark were never there and we are depending on Bryce to draw up a play in the dirt and win the game.
It’s embarrassing and will cost us recruits very quickly.

Sark almost always had a man in motion to reveal the defense’s coverage call. You knew right away if they were in man or zone, etc. and so did Bryce and he knew who should be open pre-snap. Now Bryce is having to make his reads post-snap, slowing down the play and allowing our leaky OL to break down and suddenly Bryce is dodging rushers and running for his life. Lather, rinse, repeat. And BOB learns nothing from the repeated failures.
Patterson had a great game plan for us but it was really the same thing every other team that has given us problems over the last year has done: bring well disguised blitzes from different directions almost every down and get to Bryce before he has time to get through his progressions and make him throw it too quickly or sack him. And that is going to continue until BOB accounts for it which he REFUSES to do. All it would take is some hot route slants and the defense would have to back off pretty quickly or we’d just march down the field. It’s just so frustrating to watch us try to allow a double move route to develop when Bryce has 3-4 seconds before pressure arrives but we’ll just keep pounding our head against that wall.

slants
Yeah, when was the last time we called a slant? Hell, when was the last time we had an RPO? We lived off of that for about 3 seasons.
O’Brien’s offense have zero rhythm or tempo. He does nothing to give us a schematic advantage.

We prefer throwing it to a receiver 4 yards behind the line of scrimmage and forcing another receiver or tight end to try to block two guys at once.

We are in a difficult spot, if we hire a good Offensive Coordinator he will immediately be #1 on everyone's hire list and he will get a head job. So we have to start over every year. I hate to say it, we maybe don't need a genius, just someone who isn't a freakin moron, and we've been seeing some moron lately. He's got a few weeks before we face Arkansas. He better have a plan that looks like he didn't pluck it out of an offense for dummies book.

Zero confidence for that game considering our last few road appearances

Both the coordinators should have been replaced last year. O'Brian just doesn't have 'it' calling plays. I'd rather see college level coaches. They seem to be better in-game coaches and use the talent they have. Pro coaches can be very mechanical.

Then don't hire a proven OC, promote from within and back him up with up and coming assistants and analysts, Maybe we can get 2 or 3 seasons out of an unknown guy until someone promotes him to the captain's chair.

I'd take Frost. I was thinking this very thing earlier today. I want rid of Bill O'Brien so badly. He's decent at coming up with a gameplan, but he never deviates from it when we prove that it needs to be abandoned in favor of something that is working better.
