I honestly don’t remember as much of a culture shift at Alabama as has been under Greg Byrne.
I checked to make sure this wasn’t just some engagement bait and it’s posted on UASGA official instagram and everything. Has this been a thing in the past? I guess I can kind of understand what happened to programs like FSU and USC in a way.
Entire generations see the optics and fanfare of dynasties and big time runs in college football and want to be a part of it. But growing up they only ever are exposed to the modern Alabama and not necessarily what came before it. The outside of the program stays the same but the core (fanbase wise) is a bit lost in the sauce so to speak.
Which can be attributed to Alabama essentially having an almost worldwide audience at this point. Alabama averaged 8 prime time games a year for almost 20 years dude. That’s fricking insane. Thats the lion’s share of college football eyes 2/3 of the college football year. Anyway, I just hope this doesn’t get too much traction and people don’t give in to it. Bryant Denny’s stands aren’t close enough for a visual effect like this to add any value to noise that would be much louder if the stadium was closed to the field.

Wear black for an afternoon kickoff in September? Lol no thanks

Not sure about this to be honest. Kind of confused by it. Why would we wear black at all? This color scheme thing works for more cult like universities like Auburn, Miss St, and Texas A&M. I don't see this working as intended.

You’re making more of it than it is. Young people are always going to come up with Rah Rah shite and that isn’t exclusive to the west coast.
This is old man yells at clouds. Just wear what you want.

I figured someone would say this, but it’s a slippery slope. The more you appease people like this, the more it’s pushed on the rest of us then it becomes something the administration actively puts out etc.
You probably were saying old man yells at cloud when pride parades first started being a thing.

Why in the actual hell would we wear black and white? Yeah, I know DeBoer wears a black hoodie a lot but we don’t need our fans to do a blackout. Maybe it’s a houndstooth thing? Anyway, a clothing theme is something that stupid kids who probably didn’t grow up as Alabama fans would want to do.

If they start doing dildo giveaways when we play the Aggies then I’ll start clutching my pearls.
