McCarron...Coker... all of them had three years or MORE in the system before they were ever asked to take a meaningful snap at Bama.

McCarron was a sophomore in 2011. Coker started in his second year at Bama. Transferred in 2014. So neither had more than 3 years in the system. And both those guys got criticized. At the ULM game in 2015, people behind me wanted Coker to get hurt so Bateman could play. This is not a new phenomenon.

For the record, I think there is incredible hyperbole on both sides about Hurts. He has people saying he's a surefire Heisman winner and others saying he can't play.

I disagree.

I believe he was a redshirt sophomore. He was in his third season when he started.

Might have been, but even if so that would only be two years before starting, not three.

I tend to ignore anyone that says Hurts and Damien Harris shouldn't start.

Well he had two full seasons, and three years worth of spring and fall camps under his fricking belt before he had to start for Bama.

Jalen started from day 1.

What will Jalen look like next year in his third season ?

Everyone bashes him because he had to carry the team as a freshman, but its the staff that sucked at identifying QB's under that farkwad nussy that created the problem.

Hurts should have redshirted last season.

If the staff did sign a good QB in the past years they would have won a title last season. Its on the staff not Hurts.

I don't get the white knighting for Hurts. He is a C- passer and a A+ runner. It doesn't mean everyone hates him. Just want to see a passing game develop. You really have to be naive to not understand how fortunate he is to win 24-7 with 96 yards passing and last year vs Washington with like 50 yards passing.

We need to run the ball more!

Why are we only passing 15 times? Our qb sucks.

I remember people wanting P Sims to beat out AJM his 3rd year. This crowd will never be happy with whoever is at QB.

I like Hurts as a competitor and as a player. I'm hoping to see a little more "fire" from him this year. I'm hoping as he grows into his Veteran roll that will come.

Going into 2011, I remember hoping Sims would win that QB battle for the simple reason that he would have 4 years to play. It became clear pretty quickly, though, that McCarron was the better QB.

Nice edit.

You realized your mistake and didn't stick with it.

Look at the big brain on TideSaint.

Yes, I realized he was talking about McCarron's third year and not Sims, who was at Alabama only 2 years.

Brother you've proven time and time again how small yours is.

Jalen Hurts is our best option at QB to win another title.

You seemingly can't accept that despite being shown it on a weekly fricking basis.

Either grow up and fall in line or get the frick out.

Are you on dope? Because I didn't even mention Hurts, before or after the edit. In fact, I haven't even mentioned Hurts all day long.

You may not have mentioned him today, but you've tarded up plenty of threads with your dislike for him over the last year.

It's not strange that I'm finally addressing your stupidity. It's late on my part because I made a vow to stop being so confrontational.

You make zero fricking sense, along with another dozen idiots when it comes to Hurts, and I'm tired of seeing it.

I apologize if it appears that I'm attacking you alone, but it needed to be said.

So basically, if somebody doesn't even mention the guy, you're just going to assume they're thinking bad things about him?

So you think he's a good QB now?
