The true freshman "afterthought" RB, Traeshawn Brown, is supposedly showing out in practice and yesterday's scrimmage.

That's understandable, but if Grubbs doesn't have screens, hot routes, check downs, etc to help these QBs then it's on him.
Everyone knows with a young OL and QB situation what defenses are going to do.
I am going to have a wait and see approach, but I am hoping he does right by the young group we have on that side.

It's imperative that we can Establish It this Fall. We're going to be in a world of shite if we gotta drop back to pass 80/20 again.

Honestly not that surprising. His film was impressive. Not sure why he was so underrated.

Not gonna lie DeBoer seems different this spring. It seems like he has more confidence and is excited about this group. These are all his guys now who want to play for him and not half Saban guys anymore
I actually got to meet one of the coaches while UA was on spring break a few weeks ago. His son runs relays on the track team with mine. The overall feeling with the staff is they are very excited about what they were able to bring in and going into the fall. Seems to be a very good vibe in the locker room and with the staff.

I am not sure on how anyone could not be somewhat concerned about the offense coming in to this year.
We lost our best wide received in Bernard, are starting 5 new guys on the o-line (Carroll starting at a new position), have a starting QB that has never started a game (regardless of who wins out) a very questionable OC and no true stud running back.
Anyone not legitimately concerned about how the offense will perform this year is lying to themselves or drinking the crimson kool-aid.

Sir, if we werent set at QB, Ty Simpson would have returned. Everyone knows that Russell is a stud. There will be growing pains but that kid is going to ball out.

I'm more wait and see with this offense. As I said above, I think we need to be praying for an OL that elects to kick arse in 2026 from the outset.
If they can run block well then we ought to be able to mostly pass off play action. I suspect the pure drop back pass pro is going to be dicy with so many new players. The key is that they run block well enough that Russell is mostly doing bootlegs of zone stretch looks or hard inside run fakes. I'm not saying they need to run 60/40...but the run has to be effective enough that our RS Freshman QB isn't getting splattered.

I look at it this way, the O line was erratic/inconsistent last year. Honestly, having four new guys and a new O line coach is a good thing. If the O line can play even just consistently decent, not great but at least decent, that would IMO solve a lot of the offensive problems from last year.
I keep hearing good things about the TEs, especially Josh Ford (the transfer from OK State). I feel like the TE blocking will be substantially better too.
I'm cautiously optimistic. I'm sure there will be growing pains but with reps, reps and more reps, they'll get better.

yeah, I've been cautiously optimistic the last 2 seasons. New coaches and new talent is a good thing as far as I am concerned.

The problem is the 2025 offseason reporting oversold what we had greatly. People were talking like Alabama was a true national title contender but those ideas were shot to shite before the end of game 1.

I think that the pieces were there at the skill spots, but we definitely were way oversold on the Oline. No one could have imagined they'd be so inept. Or that our preseason all-American WR1 would have an ugly sophomore slump.

But that’s my point. All the special access journalists were getting fed sunshine and rainbows when our OL was clearly a problem. Hell, some REC types started expressing those concerns after Fall camp access and got tomatoes thrown at them.

Does anyone know if buses will be taking folks from around campus/mall like they do during regular season games? I'm bringing my young family and wife who has a hard time walking long distances due to a rare genetic disorder (not considered handicapped yet). Ideally, I would like to park at the mall and take one of the buses to campus but if that is not available where would be a good place to park where I won't get towed?

Sorry, we werent anywhere close to good enough to win it last year late due to injuries.
We were a mess and it was only via incredible guts and will to win that we made the playoffs and won a game.
QB: Injured
RB: RB1/RB2/RB2 all injured
WR: WR1/WR2 both injured
TE: TE1/TE2 injured
OL: C/RG both injured along with backups
Bama circa Missouri might've won it it even without the running game, but Bama post OU wasn't bringing home hardware last year.
