The top rate is falling from 39.4% to 37% for 2018. The reduced rates will go away in 2025 unless extended (which probably won't happen with a split Congress). Some of the Democrat candidates are already touting higher rates on the wealthy.

And there's really no argument over the benefits of tax deferred savings, right? I mean you understand that saving on a tax deferred basis is better than paying the tax, investing and paying tax again every time you move your money (trade) on any gain you might have?

But hey, what's a couple of percentages of income and some additional taxes to help support the government, right? Probably translates to a big raise for TSaint.

The downtown project didn’t start until around the first of August around football season.

Now you have the project in Birmingham going on.

Its frustrating dealing with traffic, but I'm glad Ttown is finally making the necessary infrastructure changes.

Ttown just went way overboard on student housing.

Agreed, people saw dollar signs and now we have 20 student housing developments half full because there is stilla thriving rental market outside of the student warehouses.

The mayor allowed it to happen too long because “money talks”.

Tuscaloosa needs a lot of commercial developments

That would be a very impressive pull. Took the 2 best coaches off Miss st staff and both should be upgrades for us as coaches and recruiters.

Elitedawgs insider confirmed Baker talked to Saban a week or so ago and then again this morning.

Deferring the compensation does not appear to significantly reduce that percentage, just pushes the tax pain further down the road.

Further down the road, when your income is lower and you're in a lower tax bracket.

Intel on Brian Baker, Bo Davis, Tide D-line job (al.com)
quote:

Alabama may soon add another new coach. Here are a few notes on what sources are saying about the Crimson Tide defensive line coach job:

— Sources have confirmed that Mississippi State defensive line coach Brian Baker has emerged as a candidate for the Alabama D-line job, as first reported by BamaCentral. Alabama had contact with Baker as recently as Friday morning, according to sources. A longtime NFL assistant, Baker has been at Mississippi State since 2016 and recently received a two-year contract extension, according to 247Sports. Two members of Baker’s 2018 D-line group, Jeffery Simmons and Montez Sweat, were named first-team All-SEC.

— While Nick Saban has had interest in bringing back Bo Davis to coach the defensive line, sources have told AL.com that it looks unlikely that Saban will be able to make that move. Davis, who just finished his first season as the Detroit Lions’ defensive line coach, has the show cause penalty stemming from his previous stint at Alabama that is in effect until April 13.

— As for Craig Kuligowski, yes, he’s still currently the Tide’s defensive line coach. However, sources have said for a while that Kuligowski isn’t expected to be a part of the 2019 Alabama staff.

Actually, BOL has credited Matt Zenitz (al.com) as the first to report some of the candidates and expected hires.

So only 3 coaches survive Nick Saban purge.

Best of luck to all the coaches. Hopefully they and their families will be happy at their new jobs and communities.

Coach Bryant......“I tell young players who want to be coaches, who think they can put up with all the headaches and heartaches, can you live without it? If you can live without it, don’t get in it.”
