I agree. The steady decline of the gymnastics program is depressing

If you're right, that likely means he's not coming.

It doesn't mean much, he could choose, unlike Huff, to not leave MSU until after NSD there.

Is it just me or are these the most "meh" coaching hires of the Saban era?

Nussmeier though coached as the OC to a National Championship.

I’d probably say Lance Thompson

JMO but I am hopeful the new staff is tilted more toward better coaching than recruiting. I believe Nick can get those recruits that wish to buy into his plan to come. If you have to kiss their azz to get them to sign then expect to have to kiss their azz to keep them. If you finish in the top 7 ever year in recruiting then you should be OK.

It definitely won't be the worst staff we've had (2007 and 2013 were much worse, IMO; probably others too), but it's not an all-star cast either. Only one I'm really down on is Flood. Wish we would've aimed higher on some of the others, but whatever.

Who do you think was a miss besides flood? And more specifically who was the name you wanted instead?

Sark. I think he was hired to appease the Tagliovoas and for his west coast ties. Notice, I didn’t say recruiting because he’s not that great at that but just for his relationships. And his play calling didn’t wow anybody in Crimson. We could have done much better from a tactical standpoint. I don’t understand why we went down this road again.

Do you know good coaching?

I don't know how anyone can say MSU RB and DL coaches are "meh".

Those are homeruns. Only thing concerning is Sark

Everyone else on the staff or rumored to be on the staff is solid but Golding. Golding is who you should be worried about. He was DC at UTSA and our defense looked like shite with him calling the plays against good coaches.
