Most don’t realize how cheap Miami is with their assistant budget and how hard it is to recruit to a fanbase that doesn’t care and a stadium that sucks.
They have one really big booster ( who now has some issues) but was willing to front a lot to get a appx 50k seat stadium on campus..a 50k seat stadium is what they were shooting for

Mario would actually do really well here. Most don’t realize how cheap Miami is with their assistant budget and how hard it is to recruit to a fanbase that doesn’t care and a stadium that sucks.
No thanks. He wasn't all that great at Oregon outside of the upset over Ohio State in an early September game. His teams always lose games they are supposed to win and his teams get blown out in games where they aren't even competitive.

I can’t stop refreshing this page and Reddit’s Bama page

I think this is a legitimate concern.
I also think it can be adjusted relatively easily.
On an unrelated note, I'm hearing Saban Ferrari might be interested in an upcoming commercial spot featuring Caleb Downs.

If this goes like other Byrne searches it'll be nothing, nothing, nothing, then...boom, someone out of left field nobody had on their radar and everyone will be like
The problem is there really isn’t a white whale out there this time outside of Kirby. All the other plausible names-Lanning, Sark, DeBoer, Norvell-have all been tossed about. Who are legit guys know one is talking about that might be dark horse candidates? Fisch? Freeman? Kleiman? You can’t really come up with many..

Possibly. Byrne has a history of ending up with a guy that's not on anybody's radar. I'm not sure who he can hire that would satisfy the masses at this point though. Josh Pate was hinting at two names that aren't being mentioned, but I just can't think of who it might be. There's only so many people that could be successful in the current landscape at Alabama.

You may be right Outlaw.
Jimmy Sexton being his attorney I'm sure has told him, even if you're not interested, make out like you are. Use it as leverage to get that huge pay boost.
We should know something by this afternoon or early evening.

Essentially I'm saying that in a few short years, there will be an entirely different set of "hot" names.

I’m working from home today and have ESPN on in the background to listen for news… I swear every six-eight months when I tune back into one of their talk shows it gets so much worse.

Texas and Steve Sarkisian are “close” to finalizing a contract extension and raise, a source involved in the process told @Horns247

I’d guess Fisch and Klieman.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Glen Shumann might be one. It also wouldn’t be that big of a surprise with the success that larger programs have had at hiring assistants.

I’m scared Byrne hires a great coach that can’t handle the beast that is Bama. Like a bill Clark

I’d prefer Schumann over a lot of the other names out there.

As do I. I wouldn’t mind taking that chance and now would be the time with expectations being realistically lowered.
