If Cohen is in the portal he will be a good get.

I don’t know why Cohen would leave. One of the guard spots is open next year.

This team has no identity on either side of the ball. With that being said I could definitely see players struggling to buy in and start to question the program. When recruited they were being told there is a system in place with guaranteed opportunity for growth but yet even as fans we see it is not happening so imagine what the players are seeing first hand.

And if they think no changes are on the horizon like staff changes why stick around. I can not imagine Saban or around the football complex is very enjoyable in the current state.

Booker has it sewed up right? NO guard spot in my opinion

NS has bragged about the resiliency of this team. BY was the face of the problem and there was identify there. I wish he had been more of a vocal leader like AJ Mac. We had a face on D but he was mistake prone all year with off sides and horrible penalties.

So I dont agree with your assessment that Bama did not have an identity

Booker will start at one Guard spot, but I don't know if Ekiyor can/will come back, so there might be another Guard spot open.

70 started at Guard and he is coming back unless he hits the portal. LT was the only other senior on team. Or did I miss something

I know a lot of talking heads have been critical of Cohen's play this year, so if Ekiyor somehow comes back (he's a RS Senior but I don't know if he has the option to come back due to the COVID year?), I think Booker beats out Cohen for one spot, and then you'd have Ekiyor at the other spot.

That has always been a tendency of Saban when the team is not doing well he tries to be positive when he knows they are struggling.

Yes Young has been a positive but please explain what our offensive identity was. Were we a great run team? Did teams sell out on defense to load the box and stop the run? Were we a threat downfield with WRs in open space? Outside of Young he made things happen what was our identity?

What was our identity on defense? I guess always looking out of position and never being set when the ball was hiked could be. Or maybe having to many men on the field in crucial moments. Or would blitz and get burned. I would love to know the stat on how many yards after contact RBs got on us as we never seem to have the ability to bring a runner down.

Someone mentioned in another thread a while back. Teams no longer fear playing us. We no longer have that meanness in the trenches. Even Saban says our teams come out nervous/anxious.

So maybe you are right they have an identity but not the one that has been the trademark of the dynasty.

Great news for depth. Ricks needs to come back to help his NFL stock and number 1 was our best DB by a long shot.

Ekiyor is a senior. But I guess he could use a covid season and come back.

Still not sure why he'd come back. Can he really improve his draft stock that much by coming back for a 6th year? Age also matters to the NFL scouts, and they'd rather pick a younger player because they have more "prime" playing years.

Per his twitter he will be going back into the portal after Dec 5th. Undergrads apparently can't enter until after Dec 5th.

Ricks played like 100 snaps this year. He could come back next year and be a top 10-15 pick, he’s a day 2 guy right now.

Poor Zenitz, Dec 5th is going to be a busy day for him

His projections right now are kinda of all over the place. There are some draft guys who are stubbornly sticking with their preseason projections of 1st round and others who have dropped him due to playing time and peformance.

You may be right and he's a day 2 guy if he declares. But I wouldn't be surprised at all if he declares, blows up the combine, and gets drafted in the 1st by some team who falls in love with his measurables. I mean he's the definition of prototypical for a cornerback.

I can see him still going day one based on how he tests. Most NFL guys understand our coaching and system issues. It's why Will and Bryce are still projected top 5. As of now, Ricks is still ranked top 50-60 in most draft projections.
