Who frustrated you more? I remember Shula looking like a lost puppy on the sideline. Very punchable face. I’ve gotten older but Milroe makes me shake my head for sure.

Saban/Byrne for getting LANK embedded and dumping it on DeBoer.
DeBoer for not having the balls to bench Milroe at 10rc.

Shula was in over his head but was as classy as they come. Dude literally took over a cant-win situation with horrible talent and left the program better than he found it. Saying he had a punchable face says a lot more about you than him

Mike wouldn't have played the guy,

He would hand it off to Darby up the middle.

Dubose. Dubose was a pretty good coach- excellent position coach, good coordinator, and had the potential to be a good HC. He inherited a bad situation, had a rough first season and then had things turning around (7-4 in year 2 and 10-3 in year 3) and won the SEC and beat a Spurrier-coached UF team twice in one season. But, the spotlight got to him and after his personal indiscretions never demanded the same discipline and accountability from players and coaches. Also, couple that with some absolute cancers on the team and coaching staff.
It was frustrating because he had always been a Bama guy and had always been a great coach for us and he had the potential to be a great HC if he’d left his dick in his pants and focused on coaching. He couldn’t handle the spotlight and success.
I wasn’t as frustrated with Shula. He inherited the worst situation anyone could inherit and did the best he could. I did get frustrated when he was so loyal to incompetent coaches that he wouldn’t let them go. That, by the way, led to his dismissal. Shula is a good guy, and that was probably his downfall.
Milroe is just stupid. You can only be disappointed with someone when they don’t meet expectations. If you had any expectations that Milroe was anything other than a stupid son of a bitch who was going to cost us games, then you were disappointed or frustrated. I never expected anything from Milroe other than what we got.

Shula was hamstrung by sanctions and major injuries to starters:
Croyle - blew out his knee
Castille - blew out his knee
Britt - broken leg
Prothero - broken leg
Mathis - played with stress fracture in leg
Bearden - knee
Shula never would have played a QB like Milroe.

Not played him but he wouldn't have recruited him!
This shite belongs to Nick Saban. He signed the guy because he missed on others and wanted 4 scholly QB's so they could conduct practice.
Saban owns this shite as well as many other things.
He couldn't handle the shite he started and then threw his keys on the desk.

Dubose was in over his head as a HC. Did poor job managing his staff and that became toxic, no-win situation. Let players have too much control with uneven discipline. Then it all blew up in the opener at rose bowl and team fell apart.
Shula was in over his head. Refused to enforce discipline. Let players run over him. Hired buddies as assistants and refused to cut the cord.
Do you see what i see?

Alabama wasn't going to land an elite QB prospect with Bryce Young as the starting QB. Saban had to settle for Milroe.

Shula because I think he was figuring it out but showed silly loyalty to a bad staff and cut his own throat. Of course if he’d stayed we wouldn’t have had our greatest stretch.

He'd be handing off by design at least.

Brutal, but a point that needs to be made. It does not diminish the other 16 years by admitting he left us in a fricked situation with Milroe, and no one seems to understand that
