Any news or leaks or juicy rumors on the women’s search? I know everything will start actually happening tomorrow as most buyouts seem to have April 1 as a step down day. But I also know if we have a target, rumors of that target usually start to leak out about 24 hours before the announcement. Then again, Byrne took great pains to plug all leaks in the athletic department with a vengeance previously.

Rumors only (probably in the order of my uninformed preference)
#1 Washington is concerned Bama is coming after their coach (who is from Alabama and makes approximately the same as Curry did here). Washington is supposedly trying to up the ante.
#2 Bama interviewed 4 candidates and is formally extending an offer today
#3 Bama interviewed an in-state coach and an announcement is expected soon

As someone whose family owns a house in Washington, and goes out there once a year. I would call it a lateral move. Yeah, her money would go a LOT farther here if it stays the same, but the PNW is so nice. Even in the dead of summer its generally nice out there, especially on the coast. The water keeps the air fairly temperate.
But if she wants to come home, I would understand completely. I could never live out there permanently, only visit.

I’m not in the know. Just sharing what I’ve read in different spots. There was some speculation that the in-state coach was the Troy coach. (rumor #3 above)

Hoover High School got a young lady that's going to be one of the top players in the country her senior year in Kristen Winston. I just hope the next coach can recruit. I'm not sold on Rigby.
