We all speculated that O’Brien didn’t wanna be here but now we finally have some proof. Jalen said BOB told him he basically sucked and needed to change positions. O’Brien was the worst hire Saban made at Alabama. Some may say Golding was but at least the players loved Golding and they still respect him. O’Brien used the Alabama brand to get a job in the NFL. He also cost us at least one championship with his horrible coaching.

I just watched it. He tried to destroy Milroes confidence. I fear he succeeded in destroying Mac's career.

BOB is not a developer of talent. He's a hard arse that thinks he knows it all. You have to know when to be tough and when to build a kid up. Frick that dude.

Him laying into Mac on the Pats sideline is another reminder that he's a clown.

BoB is the worst coordinator we’ve had in a long time. He’s a complete asshat.

Isn’t BOB the only OC Brady never won a Super Bowl with at NE?

BOB sucks and I’m glad he is gone. He never would have been able to help Milroe get better.

That said, most of us said similar things about Milroe at various points from when he filled in for Bryce last season through the first half of this season.

Three of the biggest “what if’s” of the Saban tenure will be

-what if Tua never got hurt
-what if the chin never came to Tiscaloosa
-what if Golding was let go 2-3 years earlier

Look, I’m not a BOB fan.

That said, if he’s your OC Milroe should be in a different position or at a different school because he isn’t ready to run his old school offense.

BOB wants a Tua/Bryce drop back guy who can make plays downfield and read complex defenses from within the pocket.

So the reality is either you don’t hire BOB or you don’t recruit Milroe because they aren’t complimentary. Drake Maye who was originally committed to Bama would’ve been perfect for that system.

Here is the comment:

“My own offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien told me I shouldn’t play quarterback. There’s a lot of things I can have motivation on and that’s something I have motivation from,” Milroe said in a ballroom of the Sheraton Grand in Los Angeles. ... “He told me a bunch of positions I could have switched to, but look where I’m at right now, you know what I’m saying? Who gets the last laugh?”

I used to defend that guy. Screw him.

frick that guy. Man has there ever been a worst group of coordinators during Sabans tenure than Buttchin and 3rd and Golding.

There’s no question they’re the worst pair of coordinators during Saban’s tenure. The better question is when is the last time we had two coordinators as bad as them?

Telling someone they suck =/ He doesn't want to be here.

With that being said..... We should have won a Natl Champ with Will Anderson, Brian Branch, Gibbs, and Bryce Young.

BoB and Golding were awful and the GOAT didn't pull the trigger quick enough.

None of us are being paid 7 figure salaries to figure out how to develop him and get the best out of him though. Rees managed to do it over the course of a single season with all of 6 years of on-field coaching experience under his belt. BooB is just a dipshit who, like many other Belichick assistants, treats his players like the AI in a video game instead of actual living, breathing human beings with minds of their own. He thinks his job is to tell them what to do and their job is to do it, but if they do it wrong that's their problem and not his. Bringing him in to coach college kids was a huge mistake on Saban's part that was only overshadowed by the unique incompetence of the drunk hobbit.

I beat the drum about BOB being a cancer on this forum for years and took a lot of hate for it.

If Mac can get out of New England and get competent coaching by someone who believes in him, he’ll be a solid starter in the NFL. Dude made the Pro Bowl as a rookie. Tua was withering away in Miami and there were whispers he was a bust on tRant and elsewhere until Mike McDaniel came along. Now he’s in the NFL MVP conversation.

I find your comment insulting to Pete Golding. He’s clearly number one in the category of worst hires. BOB probably is a close second
