Great part is he did not go to Allbarn. What is Gus to do? Without a transfer QB, Gus will not have a choice but to develop one of his QB's and everyone knows he is reallllly great at that...LMAO...

This is a joke right? The 2 most recent QB's have won the Heisman trophy back to back years and one is a starting NFL quarterback. This whole post is eat up with the dumbass. Just be happy for the kid.

That is great news. A chance to win championships, individual awards and a future NFL roster. Two years ago we laughed at the thought of him winning a heisman or making it in the NFL but look at him now. Good luck to Jalen Hurts.

Jalen never stole anything so that eliminated him from the barn search.

Wouldn't that be an indictment of our QB development?

Wut? It simply means we have a better quarterback on the roster that doesn't get the benefit of playing all four quarters during the season.

Nothing against Jalen, but I hate the Okies. I hope they lose every game.

I won't become an Oklahoma fan even for a year but I am a fan of Jalen Hurts and I hope he does well and gets drafted.

Absolutely not. As a matter of fact, it speaks to both our QB recruiting as well as development.

Secondly, for 2 consecutive years an OU QB has won the Heisman. Were those 2 players the best CFB players in CFB that year? Not really. But they put up stupid numbers because it's an incredible system in a conference full of bad defenses. Hell, 1/3 of Kyler Muray's passes went against a 3 man rush.

Hurts is going to a league where everyone but TCU and maybe Iowa State plays zone with 2 deep safeties and gives 8 yard cushions. He might rush for 43,000 yards next year. And pass for another 3,500.

And he left Alabama as that exact person. He's that guy right now.

In his defense, he's saying that to the eyes of a HS QB recruit, it looks likely said HS recruit would never get a real shot at QB because OU is going to go after some hotshot transfer QB every year.

I don't know about HS recruits this year, but if I'm a QB signee from the last few years, i.e backup OU QB, I'm not happy at all about Jalen Hurts coming to Norman.

The guy had a point, but you missed it.

Sucks to take a blow to our depth like that, but the kid has done more for Bama than most guys who put on that uniform, and he's earned the right to seek his success as a starter elsewhere. Wish him nothing but the best.

No, but will just show how bad Big 12 defenses are. More of a reason Tua should have won the Heisman over Murray this year.

Jalen, assuming he stays healthy could legit have a 3500 yd passing, 800-1000 yd rushing at OU next year. Those defenses cannot stand up.

As it pursues Alabama grad transfer quarterback Jalen Hurts, OU is blocking Austin Kendall from becoming immediately eligible at West Virginia as a grad transfer

I thought graduate transfers were immediately eligible without coach's consent. Evidently not. Or maybe it's a Big 12 rule in conference.

Glad to see you come around CD! Seriously I have never been so proud of a player in my life. Jalen is truly all class.

Good luck to him. OU was probably the perfect choice. With that system, he'll probably be in the NFL before we ever learn if his passing has actually improved. I'm sure he's going to put up numbers, if he starts.

Not true. OU has one of the top QBs in the country coming in next year out of HS. The #1 dual QB in the country that every scout is putting on the same level as Baker and Kyler. Bring in a seasoned QB like Jalen while developing the next Heisman hopeful at your program. Rattler will see the field a lot next year as well and would not be surprised by the end of the season, if they are able to bring him along, that he is starting in the post season.
