This is the stupidest argument in the world in 2024 when these “kids” are making more than most will see in decades

It really is amazing seeing people bring up various losses we've had over the years to directional schools and such.

How can a team that finishes 3-8 or 4-9 have "bad" losses? All they did was lose. They weren't having bad losses, they were very bad teams. That's why they were losing.

This team is loaded with talent and future NFL draft picks and they got pushed around 4 quarters by a team with basically 0 future NFL players.

Given the talent Alabama is supposed to have and the ranking yes.

Alabama went 10-3 in 1999, won the conference and lost to La Tech

And any loss in 2000 was bad because of expectations. Just because the team finished 3-8 doesn’t mean the losses were less disappointing.

Saban got Croomed at home, lost to La Monroe at home. Bama had the superior talent in both those games. You gotta give a coach the time to get his bearings. Yes he has a lot of talent, but these still arent HIS players. You grow from adversity, not success

Superior talent? Bama was still dealing with the strain of scholarship limitations on top of Shula's lackluster recruits and lost half the starting roster to the textbook scandal by the time these games were played. To suggest these games are even remotely equivalent is laughably false but unsurprising coming from the resident retard. And it doesn't fricking matter whether these are "his players or not". Our backups should beat Vandy by 30 or at the very least take the lead at any point in the game, even if they had a blow up doll leading them. Just take the L and admit your husband royally shite the bed.

I think most are being pretty realistic. Losing to Vandy with our talent disparity is absolutely inexcusable and trying to sunshine pump after what we saw yesterday is fricking laughable. This wasn’t a fluky loss a la 2015 OM or 2012 A&M. We just got our asses whipped in every phase of football by VANDY.

Is Womack toast ? Please tell me that DeBoer has the stones to make a change after yesterday. There is just no way that Womack keeps his job after how bad the defense has looked the last three halves.

Who would replace him and what recruits would we lose if he's fired?

Saban hired Major Applewhite his first year....we know how that worked out

The issue that I think is the most important is not being addressed. For Malachi Moore, a team captain, to act that way at the end of the game and to represent the University of Alabama that way is absolutely inexcusable. I did not get to watch all of the game, and I would like someone to let me know if he was eventually taken off the field or if he refused to come off the field. For several games now, I have watched discipline issues with this team, including that of number 98 running across the field to get involved in the small skirmish with Georgia before halftime. Our defensive lineman want to jump up and dance at times for making a stop. I’m not going to overreact in regards to a loss, even one in which we should be 4 touchdowns better than the other team, but the above behavior is absolutely inexcusable at the end of the game.

That might be symptomatic of a greater problem, but on its own, it's not even remotely the most important issue.

Football is a sport of intense aggression and willfully dialing it down isn't easy, especially when faced with what we all saw.

The reality of that loss. The reality of losing to Vanderbilt descended upon him like a lightning bolt. What we saw was a player who was in profound dismay as to what was happening around him. He simply couldn't compute it.

He gets a pass.

Yes. It looked awful and he should be punished, but I don’t think we bench the guy. At least we know he cares.

Moore's understandable short circuit is the very least of Alabama's problems.

Agreed he didn't do anything that affected the outcome of the game. I'm sure he is getting after our guys this week.

But the defensive coaches might nerf to learn to translate whatever they think they see to the players. Because it's not working

With the amount of talent and #1 ranking, I think so. Will be interesting to see how the coaching staff and team move on from this one. The response to these types of games is the most important thing and will ultimately define everything more than this loss itself.
It is also worth mentioning that as history plays out there is also potentially a change in optics a bit. For instance, if Vandy turns out to actually be somewhat decent the rest of the season and pulls off a few more crazy wins over other teams everyone expects to win, and continue a streak of being a respectable little team in coming years MAYBE it won’t feel as insulting, but the odds of that don’t seem to be likely.

Lord, no.

Our history dates back 132 years, you know.

And Vandy will have a winning record and be in a bowl game this year.

Yes I am still pissed and no we shouldn’t have lost to them but damn, people, get a grip!

Name a worse loss.

Bama was #1 and a 4 score favorite. They were 4-0 and just beat the #2 team in the country, so not a paper tiger.

Vandy was 2-2 and had lost to Georgia State earlier in the year and was 11-29 under their current coach who went 2-10 the previous year.

Show me a loss that’s worse.
