Defense has issues. Kiffin did call a good game. Would like to see us go after Cristoba, Pruitt, Sark, and Kiffin in that order. I don't even see Dabo as a possibility and frankly, his golly geesh, awe shucks schtick has turned me away BIG TIME!!!!

1. Cristobal
2. Dabo ( don’t think he will be interested)
3. Kiffin
4. Sark
5. Napier
6. Pruitt
I really like that list. Id put Pruitt above Napier though. Dabo would have to be first call but I dont think he would be interested by then. Then Cristobal and Kiffin are really close and it just depends on the timing and how they progress. Sark will get another HC gig before then and will probably be thankful that he is there but if we somehow were turned down by the others then I think hw would jump at the chance.

Yes I didn’t put in an order of want . Obviously Dabo is the most qualified on that list but not sure the stars will align yet . There will be one or two who we don’t expect as well

Kiffin is borderline genius and his maturity is beginning to catch up to his wicked abilities. He might be a good replacement but I've got to see him apply that genius to teams not named Alabama. It doesn't impress me that a coach can get his team up to play Alabama. Everybody can get up to play Alabama.
He has 7 games left and he could win 5 of them and Auburn's probably a game he could win if he puts the same sort of effort in that he did against Alabama.
Or he can just be happy with his standing ovation and moral victory

Just hope we don't get stuck in trying to find someone who coached under Saban. Not that it would be bad, but it didn't work well after Bryant.
I get the gist of what you're saying but it worked out pretty well with Gene Stallings. Also I think had Perkins stayed around he would have had success. But yeah DuBose was a reach that ended up costing Bama big time.

What I saw from Kiffin is that once he gets an average defense which is coming in a season or two he has the coaching skills to make Ole Miss the second best program in the SEC West.

did Kiffin recruit well when he was at Alabama? I used to keep abreast of all the recruiting news but frankly, since Saban has been here reeling in #1 classes most years, I don't pay much attention anymore so I don't really know if Kiffin did or didn't recuit well.

would not surprise me one bit if Kiffin doesn't end up at auburn.

I think Saban’s input will have the biggest merit and who the heck knows what he is thinking.

I had to downvote that just for the sake of voodoo

Whoever would be the best recruiter because 90% of success in college ball is dependent on recruiting. I'd be open to any of the names mentioned...but I'd make Dabo turn it down. I still say the allure of "Alabama" would be very strong. Obviously he's built up Clemson and can win there...and win more easily in the weak ACC...but it's still not Bama...the top program in the history of college football. You think a Bama boy wouldn't like to cement his legacy with a statue outside BDS?

If Dabo came to Bama I'd watch the games but I'd have to mute it every time he talked.

Alabama fans and boosters have nothing on Texas for being awful.

Why do you think Phat Phil just gave Pruitt an extension? They are trying desperately to keep Jeremy happy and not interested in Tuscaloosa.

I’m team #NeverDabo.
If I wanted to think the good lord cared about the outcome of a football game, or listen to some story about, “Little Ole Bama,” overcoming the doubters to win something of note... heck, I’d join the Auburn family.

It is my sense that Kiffin is still a self-centered brat with a frat boy's attitude, interests and attention span. He will be a terror to us at every place he coaches because he can get up for the big game. I do not, however, see him having the ability to stay motivated to give his best effort week-in-and-week-out.
Sark is a much better choice.

Alabama would be stupid not to offer the slot to Dabo 1st.
