Y'all could it be the defense is improved and Golding is a good young DC but Lane Kiffin is just that good? If so, let's hire Lane once Saban retires.

I’d say Kiffin needs to actually prove that he can win big before he’d get a sniff at the Alabama job whenever it came open in the future.

And as to your question about the defense - no, this defense is not good and Golding is a horrible play caller and coach.

If I had to make a short list it would be in no particular order:

1. Cristobal
2. Dabo ( don’t think he will be interested)
3. Kiffin
4. Sark
5. Napier
6. Pruitt ( holy crap can’t believe forgot about him... live what he is doing so far and he is one on this list who could handle the pressure I think

All of this is predicated on Saban staying a few more years and some on this list gaining more experience

I need to see him go a few years showing some maturity but I’m not opposed to the idea.

You can’t just plug anyone into the Alabama job. It is without a doubt the best but possibly hardest job in America. You have to handle life in a fishbowl and be tough enough to deal with the drunken knife fight that is SEC recruiting and politics.

I agree. He is absolutely able to win. But, he reminds me of the lazy, gifted kid. When his interest is peaked, his genius shines through. However, I don't think his interest level is sustainable for him at a high level because he simply strikes me as a bit lazy.

Some of y’all sleeping on Pruitt. He’s slowly turning that dumpster fire up there around. He’s a Bama boy, a defensive mind and a good recruiter. I need to see more from him the next 2-3 years but I’m telling you guys, don’t sleep on Pruitt.

You are so right... had a brain freeze I guess to leave him off my list...

Will also add I am in no hurry to see who Saban’s replacement will be

this is true; that said, it will likely be none of the above and a coach no one is talking about right now.

Sark is better. He handled the pressure Saturday night like a champ. He made some high pressure calls. Guy has the guts of a cat-burglar.

Probably. Byrne seems like he'll get an under the radar guy. Oats wasn't necessarily under the radar, but everyone thought we were getting Thad Matta. Just hope we don't get stuck in trying to find someone who coached under Saban. Not that it would be bad, but it didn't work well after Bryant.

Dabo is the first. If we can't get him I'd say Pruitt. If we can't get Pruitt, then Kiffin

Lane couldn't help himself but get cute. He's absolutely shredding us and changes QBs down on the goal line. It's things like that that always have me skeptical with Lane.

I wouldn’t want to see us get in a rut giving preference to Sabans protégés or previous coordinators like we did with “Bears boys”

Football the way it’s played now isn’t going anywhere.

I’d absolutely love KIFF to be the guy. However, I do think Sark isn’t talked about enough as a sound, forward thinking offensive mind. He’s also got big job experience.

Seeing how well succession plans have gone at FSU, OU, and and OSU leads me to believe there will be a nice handoff to Sark in 3-5 years.

Great. Let's see him actually turn it around and win at least an SEC championship. Then we can talk.

I literally don't give a shite about this.

Like it or not, the powers that be will need to be absolutely convinced 100% that the alcoholism will never be an issue.

If the ability to win championships is the criteria, then you make Dabo say no before looking any farther. Not only has he won national championships...he has the next closest thing to a dynasty going after Alabama. And I don't give a shite that some people just don't like him or his personality.

If Dabo says no, I'm OK with either Kiffin or Cristobal. I think they're almost interchangeable. Both have multiple conference championships.

After those two, I'd be OK with Sark but a little worried about his past rearing its ugly head.

After that, we're screwed. If the University of Alabama can't get one of those guys to say yes, we're in trouble.

Pruitt doesn't have the resume yet. If we're talking three years from now, maybe he will. Maybe.

If Dabo isn't interested, then Sark is the smartest and most qualified option. Smooth transition too.
