Quick summary:
1. Commit 100 percent to stop N. Harris on the ground.
2. Put a man over the top to stop Smitty.
3. Get pressure on Mac since they are confident Mac isn't a runner and goes down easily. T
quote:

hus, I think there's a chance that we are able to sack Mac Jones quite a few times. Worst case scenario, we force them to use max protection limiting the number of players running routes who we have to try to cover.

4.ND Offense need to run PA plays for deep passes, get some runs mixed in... throws to TE and etc. Feel like tThey can hit explosive plays on Alabama.

Finallly his prediction:
quote:

rediction: The more film I watch on Bama, the more confident I get that we can win this game. I don't care what the pundits or Heisman voters say, but Trevor Lawrence is on a different stratosphere than Mac Jones. Sam Hough is better than Mac Jones as both a runner and passer. I think we will get 1 interception and force and recover a fumble on one of our sacks (there will be a handful). I believe Clemson #2 was a wake up call for Rees, Kelly, and Book as it highlighted some adjustments that need to be made. I am confident they will be ready for anything Bama's defense throws at them. I also believe that they weren't nearly as hungry as Clemson was as they thought they were a lock for the playoffs regardless of what happened. They will be mentally ready against Bama.

Notre Dame will beat Alabama 34-31 in regulation. 4 TD's for ND and 2 FG's and 4 TD's for Bama and 1 FG.

my quick thoughts:

ND Offense is good, but not that good enough to score 40, 50 points... They just don't have enough weapons. I don't think Books has thrown deep passes a lot this year... Don't think he is capable anyway.

He thinks Bama only has 2 weapons? Lol

He's acting like Bama offense is stoppable.. I mean we just played 10 straight SEC games... and we have ran diverse plays, so ....

Anything about stopping our offense ain’t gonna happen so it ain’t worth talking about. You beat us by getting in a shootout and hope we make 1 more mistake than you do. Point Blank.

I'm sure that Sark has never contemplated that scenario (note the sarcasm). I hope that Alabama goes in dry on Notre Dame.

Right. Florida had the offensive firepower to beat us and damn near did it. Notre Dame is a totally different match up in every way.

Is ND's defense better or worse than 2012?

Is Bama's offense better or worse than 2012?

Thw answer to both of those questions will tell you who is going to win this game.

I think that their team as a whole is slightly better but our team and play design is much more sophisticated. Sark is miles ahead of Nuss. I also think that Najee is a better all around back than Lacy and Yeldon. Our defense is maybe better than 2012. I think that we're much more athletic across the board.

So Lawrence is worlds better than Mac and because Mac doesn’t run often and instead looks down field he is shite? Come on lol

Well his first two ideas are in conflict. You aren’t committing 100 percent to stopping Najee if you are committing safety over the top to stop Smitty. And therein in lies the problem stopping Bama’s offense. You can’t take everything away. In typing this I find myself thinking about the what if’s if Waddle was healthy. Would be unfair.

Eddie was a better north/south RB than anyone on the 2020 team. One of my fave players of all time. Still haven’t seen a RB at the CFB level who could shrug off and run through tacklers like him. I do think Najee is a more well-rounded back, so I agree there.

2012 defense>2020 defense

Besides 2019 and 2007, what Saban-era defense is 2020 better than?

They just don't have the horses to stay with Bama. There's no shame in that as I said the same about everyone going against LSU last year in the playoffs. The talent gap will be very obvious from the start to the finish. It's nothing personal ND, you're just not good enough.

Every team we've played had plans to stop our offense. Sark has plans that'll take advantage of anything they try to do.

I know this is just from a random message board poster, but LOL.

quote:

The key takeaway is that we match up very well with Bama. Bama hasn't played against a team like us this year either, which depending on the game plan, could work to our advantage. Our team has played Clemson twice this year. Both were great tests and should help prepare the team to play in this big stage. That is one difference that I forgot to mention in my original post compared to prior years. We already had TWO big games this year to test our team's mettle.

They got torched by Texas A&M and Georgia that year. What top notch offenses did we play in 2012 besides them ? Notre Dame was average in the NCG. LSU was very close and had the dramatic ending. Auburn sucked, Miss. State was average. The 2020 defense is talented but Golding is obviously the Achilles heel.
